Audition

Walking into the school, Mickey sighed preparing himself for the looks and questions he knew he would be getting from everyone. On the inside he was a wreck and he had been since he found out about Mike and Tina, the betrayal was a little too much for him but he couldn’t let anyone know that.

So here he was, back in his domain as he wore his cheerios outfit. Head held high as he walked through the halls, not paying mind to the bystanders who gave him looks of pity or awe. They didn’t matter, they were nobodies and he was Mickey Hummel, someone who could ruin their lives with a snap of his fingers.

“Mickey Mouse!” Brittany exclaimed, as she ran to him and hugged him tightly,”I missed you,” she told him softly, letting go of him and letting him and Santana hug

“I missed you too, Minnie,” Mickey replied, kissing her cheek and laughed when she hugged him a second time

“As much as I love this little reunion,” Santana started with a teasing tone, smirking with her hands on her hips,”I believe we have a routine,” she told them, causing Brittany to tighten her ponytail and Mickey to snap, the two girls immediately getting into formation behind him with their hand on their hips,”Lovely,” she commented, her smirk widening at the eyes on them

“I do have to admit I missed this,” Mickey stated, as they began to walk through the halls

“And I love your hair,” Brittany told him, smiling brightly at him,”I can braid your hair now,” she said, more to herself causing the other two to smile softly to her

“Sure,” Mickey agreed, a small smile on his face as he enjoyed the company of his best friends

“Yeah, I never thought I’d see long hair Mickey but I’m not mad at it,” Santana commented, and sighed a little as they reached his locker, hoping her next statement wouldn’t set him off,”So how have you been, Micks?” she questioned

Mickey paused, sighing and opening his locker,”I’m fine, why?” He decided to play dumb, even though he knew that the two were fully aware of what happened with Mike. Santana went as far as to not communicate with Mike for the rest of the summer. That being said, Mickey knew exactly what Santana was doing and he was sure she knew what he was doing.

“No reason,” Santana replied easily, knowing he was playing dumb and took it as a sign to ask later but unfortunately Brittany didn’t get the hint

“You know because Mike ghosted you, left without a goodbye, left you alone at your spo-” Brittany began to list before Santana covered her mouth as Mickey’s grip tightened on his locker door and his body tensed, anger consuming him,”And now he’s dating Tin-” she got out of Santana’s grip for a second

“Yes, thank you for reminding me Britt,” Mickey said sarcastically, giving her a tight smile

“Oh, your wel-” she started to accept

“He’s being sarcastic, Britt,” Santana let her know, rolling her eyes and giving Mickey a concerned look as she noticed his shaky breathing

“Oh, I thought he forgot,” Brittany mumbled, and looked at Mickey with a sad face,”I’m sorry, Mickey Mouse,” she apologized

“It’s okay, Minnie,” Mickey accepted, his body still tense as he put his stuff away,”I’m gonna go to class,” he told them and walked away

On his way he was stopped by Jacob Ben Israel, who had a microphone shoved in his face as he asked, "Mickey, how do you feel about being back on top?” he asked him as the camera man, zoomed in on his face which was more than annoyed
