Leah was confused about what Elizabeth had said as in Leah's eyes Elizabeth is one of the best footballers in the vworld and not just that Elizabeth is one of Leah's closest friends, Leah had thought a lot about the injured striker in the past few days since she'd not been able to see her and was really worried about the fact Elizabeth had not told anyone where she was since they had gotten back to north London,
Leah had to use her captain status to try and find out where Elizabeth was staying as jonas and the physio Emma knew where she was, after finding out that she was in a hotel, Leah immediately went to Elizabeth and that's how she found where Elizabeth was
The day of Elizabeth's surgery
The day started off with Elizabeth waking up in Leah's arms after falling asleep when she was crying, when Elizabeth woke up she looked a the time it was 6:30am, and Leah was sleeping Elizabeth felt safe in Leah arms safer then she felt in anyone elses arms, Elizabeth thoughts of her feelings for Leah made her for forget about her surgery for a while that was until she was jolted out of her thoughts by an alarm she had made for half seven in the morning, Leah was also awoken by the alarm, when Leah realised that her chest was Elizabeth's pillow, she wanted to see if Elizabeth was awake when she realised that she was awake Leah pulled Elizabeth in for another hug,
Leah then helped Elizabeth get ready to go to the hospital where Elizabeth's surgery was scheduled for 10:30 am
Elizabeth had a successful surgery and was back on the road to recovery
When Elizabeth heard she was on road to recovery she perked up so much more, she stayed with Leah after her surgery cause she couldn't be alone
Leah had gone to the apartment that Alessia and Elizabeth had shared to grab most of Elizabeth's stuff as Leah had a spare room Elizabeth was going to stay with her until she found her own place
It had been 4 days since Elizabeth's surgery and a week since Arsenal women won the UWCL
Arsenal had organised a presentation at the Emirates for the team who had won everything that they were involved in the Conti cup, the FA cup , then the league after them the UWCL,
Elizabeth was debating should she go or not as people hadn't seen her since she was carried off in a stretcher, Leah had convinced her to go as the club really wanted her to be there
The presentation started with each player being introduced and walking out of the tunnel that was until they got to Captain Leah and the four vice captains, Lia, Katie, Kim and Elizabeth brought out the four trophies,
Lia led the pack holding the Conti cup the trophies were brought out in the order that they were won, after Lia, Katie followed with the WSL title trophy, Kim was then announced bringing out the FA cup finally there was a roar when Leah and Elizabeth was announced to bring out the UWCL trophy, Leah carried it out with Elizabeth still on crutches, the crowd was shocked to see Elizabeth on crutches, to be honest so were a lot of the squad as they had heard she was okay and that there wasn't anything wrong with her now to see her in a moon boot
After all of the trophies were brought out all of the squad, a mic was handed to Leah who had pulled out que cards
LW: *starts to read from the cards* firstly I'd like to thank every single person who has come out to support us this evening, I know a lot of you have travelled far distances to be here today and on behalf of everyone of us on this stage i would like to say we appreciate you, we will never be able to fully say thank you because without any of you we wouldn't be here today having this event and winning trophies, speaking of winning trophies we actually have two more presentations this evening for a very special person, *puts down her que cards * this person has been very infuencial to our most successful season in a while, having been top goal scorer all of our competitions scoring 27 in those competitions, so please give a round of applause for our top goal scorer in the 23/24 season Elizabeth Bennett, *pauses for the award handover * Now Elizabeth stay where you are for one second longer, well actually that's a bit of a stupid thing to say to someone on crutches oops anywho, actually that's a great lead on to my next topic, this amazing women whose current state is due to the game where we got this *pointing to the UWCL trophy * and now this part is an exclusive statement from Arsenal that I'm going to read out on behalf of them *takes back out the que cards* "We as a club can confirm that Elizabeth Bennett suffered a torn ligament and a fracture in her ankle in the UEFA Women's Champions League final In Bilbao, two days after the game , Elizabeth had a successful surgery on said ankle and is now on the road to recovery. We want to let Elizabeth know we support you through your recovery" *Leah puts the Que cards back in her pocket and turns towards where Elizabeth* We all love you Benny, now onto the second presentation one thing you missed from your injury was getting your UWCL winners medal, and we as a team felt really bad for that so we decided that we'd use today as an event to give it to you *leah is handed the medal from someone off stage and walks over to where Elizabeth is standing Leah also hands the mic to Kim who is standing beside her * Elizabeth Bennett as one of your teammates and best friends I am delighted to present this winner's medal to you *places the medal around Elizabeth's neck*
