The Game Against Denmark

After breakfast they had a team meeting where they got the team that was playing Denmark later that day, Elizabeth was yet to make her debut but that was okay as she was still getting the experience of a major tournament and learning from all of these amazing footballers whom had so much experience, it was amazing.

This match was still not the day that Elizabeth got her debut as they needed to win this to secure a place in the round of 16, it got to the 75th minute it was 1-1 and Russo went down injured with a cramp in her foot and was unable to continue, so Elizabeth who was already warming up as it was way to keep her head off the game was about to make her senior England debut, as she was standing on the sidelines waiting to come on she made eye contact with Leah who slightly smiled at her,

The game continued to be 1-1 until the 89th minute this was when Williamson made one of her famous long balls into the box, which crossed the ball into Bennett who had already made her way onside into the box, Bennett jumped up to header the crossed ball top right corner which crept passed the  keeper and flew into the net, that was it Elizabeth Bennett had scored on her England debut, she had also just sent her team into the round of 16 of a world cup with one match left in the group,

After she saw the ball going into the net she ran over to the corner where her Dad and Sister were sitting and kissed the tattoo on wrist and looked up to the sky it was then Leah ran over and jumped on her the back, they were then nearly brought to ground with the weight of all the team coming to celebrate with them.

After the game Leah ran over to Elizabeth to tell her that they were wanted for an interview with media and press, It felt so surreal that she was about to do her post match interview, because she's watched so many after all the matches she had either been involved in but never did she make that much of an impact to be contented for an interview, As they made their way over to the media interviewer, which happened to be Alex Scott,

Alex began to interview Leah and Elizabeth

AS:*looks into the camera they're standing in front of* Welcome back, I'm here with Lionesses captain Leah Williamson and goal scorer Elizabeth Bennett *turns to Leah and Elizabeth* congrats guys on being the first team making it through to the round of 16, Leah I'm going to come to you first how do you feel to be the first team through ?

LW: Yeah it's good to be through but were still going to treat our next game as like we would any other game in this competition,

AS: *turns to Elizabeth* Congratulations on scoring on your England debut, not many can say that you have joined the likes of the legendary Ellen White, talk us through how you felt in that moment making your debut and the moment after you scored

EB: Thank you so much, uhm yeah the moment when I came on unfortunately Alessia had to come off due to cramp but thankfully she's okay, it didn't really hit me until I gave Alessia the usual high five when she came off, I just hope I did my country proud just as much as I was to wear that shirt tonight, the goal really came from Leah's brilliant reading of the game as she always does, all I really did was be in the right position to slot the ball into the net,  so I can't take much of the credit, the moment after goal I ran over to corner where my dad and sister were then Leah came and jumped on my back, followed by the entire team and staff, it was moment I had dreamed of my entire life

AS: As part of your goal celebration you kissed your wrist and pointed to the sky, may I ask the reason why

EB: Am yeah sure well I'm a big family person as most people know and unfortunately my mum and Brother who were two of my biggest inspirations in life and the people who made me who I am today couldn't be here, so when I got my first pro contract I got a tattoo dedicated to them on my wrist so they'll always be with me *Leah puts her arm around you* especially my mum she always believed in me and wouldn't let me quit no matter how many times I wanted to so I dedicate my first England goal to her

AS: well you've made me a have a few tears in my eyes that was so sweet, I'll let you guys get back to your teammates *looks back into the camera* Back to you in the studios  

After the interview Leah and Elizabeth ran back to the rest of the girls who were gone back into the changing rooms and were getting ready to go back to the hotel after the match

When they got back to the hotel they all went to their for an early night, neither Emilia and Elizabeth were able to sleep until  half two so whilst they were lying in their separate beds, Emilia started talking to Elizabeth for the first time since the night she cheated on her
