A New Set Of Paws: Kara's Story

{CHAPTER 2 - TOUR PT1}

Kara sprinted through the forest; Cinder and Heather in her follow.

"We're going to make it!"
Kara barked excitedly, tears shed from how fast she ran

Off to the side raced Kara's mother, panting as she darted ahead.

"Mom!" Kara exclaimed, a smile appearing.

Her mother still looked forward,

The four rushed forward, closer to the exit.

They had made it!

Kara barked in happiness, howling with excitement.

"We made it!" She exclaimed, "Guys..we.."

With a turn of her head, her mouth opened agap as she gasped.

Ahead of her was her family under a crushed tree,

Even her father.

Kara shivered, so shocked, she fell back on her hind paws.

She looked up, glued down.
The snows' shards surrounded her, covering her sight in white.

"Let me free!" Kara yowled, pawing at the sky.

"Let me up! Let me up!!"

Kara's head shot up, her head darted in different directions.

The pup whimpered quietly, covering her eyes with her paws slowly as tears started to shed.

A few moments after her reaction, she looked over and turned around.

Marshall was still there. The dalmatian was still sound asleep.

'He stayed? Why..?'
Kara questioned, still slightly whimpering from her internal attack.

The pup wondered, should she go back to sleep or stay awake to avoid another nightmare?

Kara just sighed, putting her chin onto the bed under her.

It was now sunhigh, and she had stayed awake.

Marshall tossed over to his left. He then opened his eyes.

"Good morning, you two."
Spoke Ryder, looking down at them.

"Good morning, Ryder, morning new pup!" Marshall wagged his tail.

Kara looked down, her eyes narrowed to her side slowly.

She flinched,

"Woah! You alright?"

Kara was too stunned to respond, for as she did, she was stared as she quivered.

Marshall narrowed his eyes down to his left, for he was guilty for catching her by an unwanted surprise.

Chase rose from his sleep position, padding out his puphouse.

He looked around,

The shepherd made his way to Skye's puphouse, where she slept peacefully.

He chuckled,

"So cute.." He mumbled.

"What was that?" A voice said, obviously confused.

Chase immediately turned his head to see Rocky, who was speechless.

Rocky's eyes were clouded with confusion.

"Uhm..time to wake up the other pups! I'll wake Marshall!" Chase exclaimed, springing from the scene.

Rocky still stood speechless, very unsure of how to react.
