'He's smiling...'

Leaf studied the grinning brunette in front of her curiously. He looked strangely peaceful for once; his eyes gazing into empty space, his hands drumming a playful tune on his denim-covered knees, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. And then-

'Like what you see, Green?'

His arrogant comment made her jerk back her head suddenly. 'What the hell gave you that idea, Oak?'

He shook his head, completely ignoring the question. 'Y'know, it's okay to stare. Just make sure you close that gaping mouth of yours; might catch flies.'

She glared at him, veins throbbing violently. 'Oh shut up Gary!'

He chuckled, his annoying, lighthearted chuckle. Leaf couldn't stand it. She couldn't stand any of it.

'Oh c'mon Leaf, I'm just playin' with you-'

'Just... shut up... okay?' She breathed, crossing her arms, trying hard not to lose her temper.

She hated this. This feeling. The feeling you could only get around Gary Oak. She literally detested every single moment she spent with him. Why? Well, she didn't know for sure. Maybe it was the way those bright hazel eyes glanced over her, or the way he spoke flirtatiously to her with a gentle smile, or the fact that he'd laugh when she'd get angry at him and pinch her cheek and say she looked adorable when she was mad. She didn't know for sure. But... it had to be one of those things, right?

'Ah Leaf... I think it's our turn.'

The teen blinked, 'Yeah... right... let's go.'

Without a word, Gary got up from his seat and headed to the stage, walking quickly. Leaf stared after him for a moment before hurrying after him.

They stood back to back and Leaf tilted her signature hat down to hide her face as she sang, trying not to shake the microphone too much.

'I got another man,
and he ain't nothin' like you.
I got another man,
and he knows what to do...'

'I see you standing from across the club,' Gary walked across the stage with a flirtatious smile, making dozens of girls in the crowd swoon,
'with your arms folded in front and your face screwed up.
Well she's my girl now;
She couldn't resist my charm.
And she's my girl;
That's why she looks so good on my arm.
I'm taking her out dancing on a Saturday night,
With the stilletos in the ghettos girl you're lookin' alright.'

'I got another man,' Leaf smiled, walking up to Gary and linking her arm in his,
'and he ain't nothin' like you.
I got another man,
and he knows what to do
He's not pushy, lazy, he's motivated.
He's not cranky, he loves me just as I am.
I got another man,
and he ain't nothin' like you.'

Gary slinked his arm around her neck, pulling her closer and making her blush.
'So with a wamp apa luba and a wom bamboo,
I'm a kissin' with my baby gettin' into the groove.'
He winked suggestively at Leaf, sending goosebumps down her arm,
'with the leopard print skirt
bleach blonde hair,
Sipping a cherry cola while everybody stares.
This is the kind of love I want to possess.
I said "Will you be my girl?"
She said "I must confess."'

'I've got another man,' Leaf pushed him away from her, smirking.

'What?' Gary faked a mock gasp.

'And he ain't nothing like you,' She smiled apologetically.

'I bet he ain't!'

'I got another man.'

'Well who is he then?' The teen asked suspiciously.
