Chara's POV

As I nervously stammered out my question about the scars that adorned Y/N's body, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of curiosity and concern. The sight of those scars had taken me by surprise, and I knew that there must be a story behind them.

Y/N's expression turned dark then softened, and he looked down at his scar-covered body for a moment, lost in thought. Then, he began to speak, his voice carrying a weight of pain and resilience.

"These scars," he began, "they're a reminder of a time in my life when things were... difficult. You see, I grew up in a household with an abusive father."

My heart ached as I listened to his words. The pain in his eyes was palpable, and I wished I could reach out and comfort him. But all I could do was listen.

Y/N continued, his voice steady but filled with emotion. "My father... he had a temper, to put it mildly. He would lash out at me and my mother over the slightest things. It was like walking on eggshells every day, never knowing when the next outburst would come."

I couldn't imagine what it must have been like for Y/N to live in such a volatile environment. His strength and resilience were evident in the way he spoke about it.

He traced his fingers lightly over one of the scars on his chest, his gaze distant. "These scars, they're from the times when things got physical. When I tried to protect my mother, or when I just couldn't avoid his anger."

Tears welled up in my eyes as I heard his story. I wanted to reach out, to comfort him, but I remained invisible to him, a silent observer of his pain.

Y/N looked up at me, his eyes filled with a mixture of sadness. "But I don't want to dwell on the past. I've left that life behind, and I'm hoping to find a better future here in the underground."

I nodded, my admiration for him growing with every word he spoke. Y/N had faced unimaginable hardship, and yet he carried himself with strength and resilience.

"I'm here to support you, Y/N," I said softly, even though I knew he couldn't hear me. "No matter what challenges we face in the underground, we'll face them together."

With those silent words of encouragement, I watched as Y/N lay back down, his scars a testament to his past but not a reflection of the person he had become. It was a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there was hope for a brighter future.

Y/N's gaze remained fixed on the ceiling, lost in thought. After a moment of silence, he continued his story, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I eventually left that home, wanted to be rid of this life. I wandered for a long time, trying to escape the memories of my past. That's how I ended up here, in the underground."

I listened intently, hanging on to every word he shared. It was a deeply personal and painful story, and I felt honored that he trusted me enough to open up.

Y/N's eyes met mine, even though he couldn't see me. "You know, Chara, it's strange. Despite the hardships I've faced, I've also encountered kindness and warmth from unexpected places in the underground. It's as if this world is giving me a chance to heal and find a new family."

I nodded, my heart swelling with a mixture of emotions. Y/N's journey was one of resilience, hope, and the power of forging new connections, a new family.

He turned his head to look out the window at the snow-covered landscape beyond. "I've decided to leave the past behind and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. And maybe, just maybe, I can help others find their way too."

As Y/N's words lingered in the air, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of admiration and affection for him. He was not just a survivor; he was a beacon of hope in a world that often seemed dark and unforgiving.
