Harry scowled and tugged on his chains. He looked over to Death. "I blame you," he said.

"Yeah, alright, that's fair," Death said.

They had gotten captured while searching for Percy. Death had insisted they search, despite Harry's reassurances that he was safe, knowledge that he got from a vision. Now, they were chained down with icy chains that blocked Harry's magic.

"Stop talking!" the giant that was holding them captive said.

"Sorry, is it annoying you?" Harry asked sarcastically. "My bad."

The giant huffed and turned back to the empty camp. "Just be quiet."

Harry rolled his eyes and looked at Death. "Draco's going to be so mad," he mouthed, causing Death to wince and look properly terrified. A mad Draco was a scary Draco.

It had been weeks since they had been captured, and the giant had filled the camp with shades.

For days, the giant, Alcyoneus, had been acting significantly more excited. He would look at Death and cackle, which was probably meant to unnerve them. It didn't, but it was annoying nonetheless.

"Spit it out," Harry finally snapped. "What's so funny?"

"Death's little hero is coming to rescue you," Alcyoneus said gleefully. He stalked towards Death until he stood right in front of him. "You'll just have to watch helplessly as he begs for mercy at my feet."

Death struggled against his bonds. "Don't you touch him."

Alcyoneus grinned. "Try and stop me."

The giant stalked off and began to prepare for the trap.

Twenty minutes later, a horse materialized not too far away from them. On its back was one Percy Jackson, along with two others that Harry didn't recognize.

They spoke for a minute or two before cautiously making their way over to where Harry and Death were chained.

"Excuse me?" the girl, Hazel, said timidly. "Mr. Death?"

Death raised his head, causing the cloak he wore to fall to the ground. "Get out of here, Percy," he hissed. "It's a trap!"

"Duh," Percy grumbled. "I'm not leaving you, Angel. How do we break these?"

Harry lifted his head as well as his question. "Only the Fire of Life will melt the chains made to restrain Death," he said grimly.

"Hadrian?"

Harry smiled. "Death is right, Percy. We cannot die, but you can. Alcyoneus will kill you."

Percy scowled. "Where am I supposed to find this fire?"

Hadrian merely tilted his head in the other boy's direction. "Frank Zhang."

Frank sighed and took out a piece of firewood. "I know what I have to do."

Behind them, the camp sprang into action. Shades appeared out of nowhere and Alcyoneus stepped into view. "Ah, Perseus Jackson," he said with a smirk. "Come to save your boyfriend?"

Percy's eyes flashed angrily but he turned to Hazel. "You got the giant? I can take the army."

With that, everything burst into chaos. Hazel ran towards the giant on the horse while Percy charged the army. Frank looked between Death and Harry indecisively.

"Free Death," Harry said firmly. "He will help Hazel kill Alcyoneus."

Frank shook his head. "He can't die in Alaska, but we won't need the help of a god to kill him if he's not in Alaska."
