43: They Who Stayed, and Him Who Left

After the scene I caused and the decision I made yesterday, Clef Records immediately called a meeting with the band and me.

Selfish thing to do, I know. But I need to be in peace right now... without the thoughts of him.

I immediately received a message from Gail right away.

From: Gail

Sad of the thought I'm the only girl in the band right now. :( Miss you, babe. Trey and I will be picking you up in ten para sabay na tayo sa meeting. Dress up.

Agad na rin akong nagbihis after receiving the text. As I waited out of the house, Luke's and my friends' words echo in my head.

"You shouldn't have done this. I know you're better than this, Therese. You can't quit. I know you loved this band so much," he said as we all gathered backstage after my announcement.

I didn't spoke as Trey, Raven, Gail and Ate Love were just watching our scene.

"Hey! Can't you at least say something?" he said and then held both of my arms. "Speak."

I feel tearyeyed. He spoke again. "Why are you doing this? I know I haven't been with you from the start of this. I know I don't have the right to complain because I just got in for a couple of months. I just can't see the reason why are you dropping out of this band."

He stared at me and when he felt like I have nothing to say again, he ranted once more. "Are you doing this to get back at me?"

"Luke, hindi ganun kababaw si Alli para iwan kami," Raven meddled.

"Hindi ko maintindihan e. All I know kaya siya nagkakaganyan is because of our relationship and because of our breakup!" Luke shouted and pointed his finger at me.

Gail held my shoulders and backed me up from Luke. "Dude, do you even hear what you're saying!?"

Luke scoffed and smirked. "I can't believe this is happening! Sa tingin mo ba hindi ako nahihirapan sa sitwasyon na 'to? I've been through worse things than you! And I didn't even quit this freaking band out of my emotions!"

Hindi ko alam kung bakit nabato ako sa kinatatayuan ako. Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit of all events, dito pa ako hindi makapagsalita.

Trey stood in front of me and Gail. "Luke, kung hindi mo naiintindihan si Alli, tama lang siguro na nakipag-hiwalay siya sa 'yo. We know she is better than this and we wouldn't think that she just backed out on this band and left us dahil lang sa emosyon na nararamdaman niya para sa 'yo. But you did. You assumed because you think you're so fed up with everything. Stop fussing around. You don't what this girl has been through. We've always been at each other's sides. This band has always been. Pero ikaw, this was the only problem you've encountered with us, but you can't support her decision? Dude, she needs some respect! Ikaw pa 'tong may ganang magalit sa kanya when all she just did is quit the band. She didn't quit for some asshole like you. She quitted for a better reason."
