39: Chronicles of Us

GAIL'S VIEWPOINT

"NO WAY. Sabi mo two days lang OR roadtrip! Hindi pwedeng pumunta tayo dun! Puerto Galera? Are you out of your mind?" Alli said in surprise.

Hindi pa din siya makapaniwala na after naming mag-Laguna eh we'll go south. The decision is biglaan kasi pero napapayag naman agad yung Dad ni babe. Eh kaso 'tong si A, pa-killjoy masyado.

"Calm down. It was not in our itinerary or plans but pinayagan ka. So we'll go," sabi naman nung boyfriend niya.

"Ugh. Lagi naman e. Lagi na lang kayo nasusunod," she snorted. The most tampuhin ever.

"Ayaw mo? Okay, let's go back to our home and end this vacation," Luke said, probably pinipigil ang kanyang anger.

"Okay, fine. Let's go on to this vacation. Enjoy it. I'm sorry. It's just that 'wag niyo akong binibigla," A said na parang nakonsensya.

"Unplanned moments are the best. Probably Puerto Galera na ang last stop natin. Okay?" I encouraged her. Totoo naman e. Minsan pa nga eh yung mga planado pa yung hindi natutuloy.

"Pero are we seriously going to take a three-hour ro-ro trip?" she asked.

"No. Since Luke and I have talked about this, sasabihin na din naming sa inyo," Avan started.

"So, I presented we should take plane. I know I could borrow one from my dad's relatives," sabi naman ni Luke.

Yeah. They were that rich to own private planes and stuff. My mom once did business with Luke's family.

"May kamag-anak naman ako sa Puerto, so 'yun. We can take a ride there," Avan continued.

"Let's go?" pag-aaya ni Luke.

"LET'S GO!"

So we took a ride back to the city then to one of the Cruz' private compounds. There's even an airport. The compound was so wide, I can almost imagine that they own the city we live in.

Luke took my bestfriend Alli to a surprise ride in one of their gliders before we take off to Calapan. Wah. Sweet.

After that, we took a 45-minute trip to Calapan, then Avan's cousin fetched us and drove us to Puerto Galera. We stopped by an enormous tree house. In fact, it didn't looked like a tree house at first glance. Pero it was. And I can't believe it. 'Pag nakauwi ako, I'll request Dad to pagawa one in Batangas.

Babe and I took the first room we saw. It was overlooking the sea. Nice view. I took the bunk near the door, while she took the one near the window.

Agad na rin kaming nagpalit into our swimming clothes para masulit yung time. Bukas kasi after lunch, aalis na kami.

After swimming, we just stayed up late under a palm tree as we waited for the sun to set.

"Breathtaking," I heard Alli whispered while we were watching the sunset.

We just all sighed in return, not taking our eyes off the view. As the sun set, the stars began to show. We started walking back to the tree house where we're staying and changed.

We went out again and checked out the night life in the place. Pretty much, it wasn't the night or club life you usually see in the urban cities. Dito, chill lang.

Nagpaikot-ikot lang kami sa place when we heard someone's stomach grumbled.

"Kanino yung gutom na tiyan na 'yon?" tanong ni Avan.
