No'ones Pov

"Hm, so that's why you didn't visit earlier," Walnut said, her arms crossed. A streak of grumpiness could be heard in her voice, "So that's the plan that they came up with?"

Chocolate Mocha nodded, then reasoned, "To be fair, your dad would still have been here at that time."

"I could've come up with a plan to lead him somewhere else," Walnut protested, "Like, tell him there's a case somewhere in Choco Mud Town. There probably is, that place always has crimes."

"Well, what are you planning to do?" Cream Puff asked, "Knowing you, you wouldn't just sit back and relax."

"Of course not! This great detective is ready to jump right into this case!" Walnut scowled determined, "It's obvious these two cases are connected!"

She grabbed the other two cookie's wrists eagerly, "You two are only backup right?"

"Yes," Cream Puff answered, sighing.

"Unfortunately," Chocolate Mocha grumbled.

They really wanted to approach directly instead of waiting and watching in the shadows as the 'adults' did the work.

"Then you guys would help me!" Walnut yelled, appalling them.

"HOW?!" Cream puff yelped, "Your dad will most definitely arrest us, then ground you forever as a prisoner in your own house!"

"Pshh, we just won't get caught!" The young detective said with a shrug, aching to participate and unravel more mysteries.

"You're starting to act like Rougefort," Chocolate Mocha joked and Walnut tilted her head, "The part about not getting caught I mean."

Somewhere...

"Achoo!" Rougefort sneezed bitterly into his elbow.

"Bless you," His prisoner acquaintance said with a soft voice.

"Thank you," Rougefort replied, is someone talking about me in a non-angry or non-lovey conversation? "I still don't understand, could you please continue your life story?"

"I didn't think a master legendary thief would like to hear about my life story," She said, repeating what she had said before she had begun it a few hours ago.

"Well, I can't quite do anything like this," Rougefort growled, his once light twinkly voice dissolving into bitterness, "Once I am out, I shall pay an unplanned visit, except a deeply unpleasant one, and I'll give that guy you mentioned a revenge he deserves for a beauty like you. Afterwards, I shall make a special greeting card, announcing my return to my lo-"

He looked at the lady stuck in the cell with him, stopping mid-sentence. She was leaning in curiously, but quickly shuffled back, too timid to press on.

"I'll tell you about my love life in exchange for a precious stone," Rogefort bartered, thinking even a prisoner that once belonged to a house would have jewels... but he was wrong.

She reached under her white and brown shirt and took it out from under a small necklace. She held it delicately with the palm of her hand. It was a small gold necklace with a blue Grandidierite gem that was embedded into a golden ring at the bottom.

Rougefort's eye winded, barely a millimetre, not enough to notice. He didn't expect her to be allowed to keep anything personal on her as all of his things were taken away.
