Do you want this?

I teleported to the dorm because I had left my smartphone.

I walked outside after retrieving it and a man stepped out from behind the hedgerow.

"That is the power that I felt.

Give it to me."

Holding up my phone, I asked.

"This?"

"Yes!"

"God made it so that only I am able to use it. It won't do you any good."

"I'll figure it out. Give it." He drew a sword.

"Come on, then. If you can take it from me, it's yours by right."

"You're just a boy, no more than thirteen years!"

He charged and I grabbed his sword from him.

Holding the hilt against my gauntlet caused it to embed into it and, as that happened, I kicked the man's knee backwards.

As he sat on the ground, holding his leg, I stepped toward him, holding his sword pointed at him.

"Please, sir. Do give me a reason to justify killing you, or give up your power hunger."

"Alright! I'll leave and never return! Just find a healer!"

I swung my left arm down, slicing the blade into the rock, as it was also protected by the gauntlet enchantments.

Releasing the hilt, I knelt down and grabbed his leg.

"What are you doing? I need a healer!"

"Would you just shut up and let me heal you!?" I snapped.

Kneeling, I bent his knee to the correct orientation before casting high heal.

He tested his leg and looked at me.

"Why would you help me?"

"You don't seem inherently bad. More like a stray dog that's been beaten by every stranger he tried to ask for help."

"That is how my life has been."

"Then, let me help you."

"Alright."

I cast remote voice and remote ear.

"Laurent, Are you terribly busy at the moment?"

"No, sir. How can I help you?"

"I've got a vagabond wishing to change his life.

I've already seen his thoughts and he's honest, at least."

"Sure. Where are you?"

"The academy dormitory. You?"

"I'm currently at the castle. I'll check with father to see if he minds."

"Alright."

...

"He said he'll station guards in the courtyard but, otherwise, he said it's fine."

I looked down at the man.

"What is your name?"

"Claus Sigelsen."

"Well, if you're ready."

"Where are we going?"

"Firstly this. I want my wife with me, so we'll be stopping by to get her. Then, we're going to the castle."

"But you said that I could leave!"

"You're not going to be judged. You're going to train with my best friend, Laurent along with the knight commander, Hourris Vülâfort."
