Chapter 43

"Hey!! Who are you? Let go of me!" The other party’s voice rang out as his face was pressed up against the wall.

"I asked, who sent you to keep an eye on Kim?! "Day asked again while twisting the other party’s arm behind his back.

"Ow...I didn't come to keep an anyone," the other party refused to tell the truth.

"Do you think you can lie to me? Just you wait," said Day before…

“Ahhhhh...." The young man screamed as Day bent his arm and dislocated his shoulder. The man fell down onto the floor.

"What's going on?" An employee ran over to ask after hearing a noise.

"Nothing. My friend is heartbroken and drunk. I'll take care of him myself," Day said as he squeezed the man’s neck, warning him not to ask for help.

"Well, is there anything I can help you with?" the employee asked.

"No, but thank you very much," Day said calmly. The employee didn’t ask any more questions before walking away. Day turned to look at the person in front of him fiercely.

"If you don't want me to dislocate both of your shoulders, just stay put," Day said back before pulling out his phone and taking a photo of the person in front of him. He quickly sent the photo before immediately dialing a number.

"P’ Khom, find out who the person in the photo is. Find out about his family. Maybe we need to use them as bait to open a stubborn person’s mouth a bit," Day said, causing the other party's eyes to widen immediately.

"Don't mess with my family..." The young man with a dislocated shoulder said loudly. His face had turned red from the pain.

"Yes, P’ Khom. I won’t tell hi.  Yes, okay, call me back," Day said back before putting the phone back in his pocket and squatting down to look at the man in front of him.

"Why? Do you have a family to take care of?" Day asked while squeezing the other man’s throat lightly.

"What do you want?" asked the young man.

"I just want to know who sent you. Well, why won’t you tell me who sent you?" Day asked again, making the other party hesitate.

"If I were to tell you, I would be in trouble," said the other party.

"If you don't tell me, you will be in even more trouble and so will your family… but if you tell me, I promise you that you won't be in trouble, and I will help you and your family,” Day said, knowing full well what the industry was like.

Anyone who makes the mistake of betraying a mafia member will be punished. Not only will they suffer, but so will their family. If the other party is willing to change his mind and help him, Day will also help the other party. Right now, the person in front of him was gasping for air. Since his shoulder was dislocated, he was in a lot of pain.

"How do I know that I can trust you and that you aren’t lying to me?" the young man. Day looked at the face of the person in front of him and knew that he was not a professional. It was obvious that he had not done this for long because he had been in his industry for a long time previously.

"Whether you trust me or not, that’s up to you," Day said causually, making the other party hesitate. If he returned back to this condition, he would definitely be punished by his boss.

“I work for Khun Danai...he asked for me to come and keep an eye on Kamol's partner. He wanted to know where he was going and with him. Boss wants to use Kamol's partner as a hostage to negotiate some business," said the other person.

"When is the person coming to capture him?" Day asked tensely.

"I really don't know. My job is to call and relay information to them only about where Kamol's partner is, whom he is with, and if there is a bodyguard protecting him," the young man replied.

“Okay, then call and tell them he is here. The people he is staying with are just his friends. There are no bodyguards here,” Day said again.

"Then the rest, I will take care of myself. Don’t worry. You won't be in trouble either," Day said again.

“Why are you willing to help me? Actually, since you already know my secret, aren’t you supposed to take care of me?” The other person asked curiously. Day stood up.

"Because I've been in trouble before, just like you before. I know what will happen if you fail your mission, and I also know what kind of person Danai is. I wouldn’t be helping you if you didn’t have a family.  I don't care how good or bad you are. I know you have a family to take care of. It is because of that reason that I have to help you," Day said. It's not that Day is kind, but because he understood the situation of the other party.

Day didn't actually call Khom. He just pretended to talk to see the other person's behavior. He wanted to know whether he had a family to take care of or not. When the other party told him not to interfere with his family, it let Day know that this person cares about his family. Day picked up the phone again. This time, Day really did make the call.

("Hello, Day") Khom answered the call.

"P’ Khom, I have something to ask of you," Day began before telling Khom about the young man and the family he promised to protect. He asked Khom to relay the information to Kamol, as well. Day explained why he wanted to protect this person. He sent a picture of the young man to Khom and told him his plans for Danai. Khom told him that he would send someone to protect Kim and to watch him from a distance before ending the call.

"Okay, just act normal. Act as if nothing happened. Call your boss and tell him about Kim. You need to receive treatment for your dislocated shoulder. If you are asked about how you dislocated your shoulder, just say  that you slipped or did something crazy and fell onto it. Don't say anything about Kim. At the very least, you’ll  just be scolded for being stupid." Day said before helping the other person get up.

"Thank you," said the young man before going the other way. Day looked at him with an unmoving gaze. Day didn't want to make any more enemies. It was better this way. Day wanted to turn enemies into friends. Day sighed lightly before walking back to join his group.

"Where did you go? I thought you fell off the toilet and died." Itt said immediately when he saw Day walking back in.

"Ugh… ow," Itt's voice came our unclear when Day grabbed Itt's mouth and squeezed it lightly.

"You have a smart mouth. I'm going to lie underneath the shade of the tree for a bit," Day said back, leaning back on the chair near the pool.

"He’s spending his time here underneath the trees. He’s so content,” Itt said.

“Were you afraid that Day was secretly flirting with a foreign woman?" Kim jokingly asked.

"No, P’ Kim. I thought that he had been gone for a long time and thought he was doing something else," Itt said in a soft voice.

"I'm not you, Itt," Day immediately retorted. Itt therefore scrunched his mouth at his lover. Day laughed softly. Day lays beside the pool with Itt for a while before a hotel staff member brings over a piece of paper.

"Sir, someone left a message for you," the employee said before handing the note to Day.

"Thank you," Day responded as he took it.

"What is it? Who gave you that?" Itt asked immediately. Day opens and reads without letting Itt see it.

// I’ve already called and given the information. He’s going to send someone to take your friend tonight… // Day's face flickered as he finished reading the words on the paper.

"Day, someone gave you something. Give it to me to read right now." Itt yelled, wanting to snatch the paper from Day's hand, but Day wouldn’t allow him to take it. Itt froze a bit because he knew Day was keeping something from him.

"If you want to read it, then sit here and read," Day said back.

"I don't want to read anymore," Itt said softly. He sits back. Day then leaned over to lock Itt's neck and pulled him towards him. After pulling Itt to lean down, Day secretly whispered softly in his ear.

// After reading this, don't freak out// Day said, causing Itt to pause and wonder. He read the paper in his hand. Itt's eyes widened slightly. He glanced over at Kim, who was feeding Salmon snacks. Kim turned to look at Itt with a raised eyebrow as if to ask what was on the paper.

"Wow...so charming. Someone asked for your number, too... just throw it away,” Itt made an annoyed expression while crumpling the paper in Day's hand.

"Did someone ask for Day's number?" Kim asked.

"Yes," Itr replied, looking at Day as well. Day knew that his lover had only lied to Kim to cover it up. Therefore, he did not say anything further because he also didn't want Kim to know. As for Itt, he had no choice but to tell him. If he didn’t, he would be in trouble again.

"Uncle Day, can I play in the pool now?" The little boy asked again when he saw that the sun was going down. There were other children jumping into the water.

"Yes, Itt, put a rubber ring on Salmon’s arms and waist for him," Day told his lover. Itt walked to pull off Salmon’s pants that covered his swimming trunks. He put floaties on Salmons arms and waist.

"Come on, Salmon. Get in with me," Kim called out to Salmon, who was now a bit familiar with Kim.

"Uncle Itt and Uncle Day, aren't you coming to play?" Salmon asked them.

"Wait, I'll follow you in a bit. Salmon, you can go play with Uncle Kim, for now," Itt said back Salmon as he walked to Kim, who was now taking off his shirt to wear only his swimming trunks in the pool. After seeing that Kim was playing in the water with Salmon and wasn’t paying attention to him, Itt moved to sit next to his lover.

//What happened? Who sent that message? // Itt asked immediately, sounding stressed.

// I caught one of the enemies. He confessed everything about the enemy coming to take Kim as hostage.//  Day said back in a low voice, trying to act like they were having a normal conversation.

//Well, why did they go and tell you someone would come and take Kim? // Itt asked again.

// Well, I have made a little deal with him. So, he betrayed his boss to tell me the information. You don't have to think about it too much. I called and told Khom. He is going to take care of this. You mustn't go out tonight. Stop Kim from leaving, too. // Day ordered.

//Why didn't you tell P’ Kim this? If P’ Kim knows, he will be more careful. / Itt spoke his mind.

//I'm thinking about whether to tell him or not because Kamol doesn’t want him to be too worried about this. // Day said again. Itt frowned when he remembered something.

//Day, this is like going back to work for you. Why did you say you wouldn't get involved with this line of work again? // Itt raised his voice slightly at Day, but he was careful not to be too loud.

“I don't want to get involved, but this is dealing with my friend. How would you feel if it was your friend? Will you allow me to help Kim? If we are going to help him, we need to see this through until the end. // Day said in a serious voice.

//Hmm, but I just don't want you to take any more risks// Itt said because he didn't want Day to get hurt or anything.

//This is a small matter. I’ll be fine. // Day said to ease Itt's mind to make him more comfortable. What Day had said was true. Day thought this matter was really small.

// A small matter? Why are you calling this a small matter? // Itt complained.

"Uncle Itt, get in and play with me. Hurry," the little boy's call our, interrupting the two.

"You should go play in the water. Don't think too much," Day said to comfort him. Itt nodded before getting up and taking off his pants. He was already wearing swimming trunks.

"Wait," Day called before Itt could take off his shirt.

"Hmm," Itt answered.

"Are you going to take off your shirt to get into the water?" Day asked in a tense voice.

"Well, everyone has to take off their shirt to get into the swimming pool, Day," replied Itt.

"Don't get in yet. Wait a second," Day said before walking over to one of the employees. After chatting for him for a while, Day came back to Itt.

"You can keep your shirt on. He doesn't mind. I've already talked to him," Day said back.

"Are you crazy, Day? P’ Kim even took off his shirt," Itt complained.

“Kim, you too. Put your shirt back on. I can promise you, if he finds out that I let you take your shirt off to swim in the water and play, he will kill me,” Day said, throwing Kim’s shirt into the water.

“No, Kamol won’t know if I don’t wear it anyway,” Kim immediately refused.

"Then, I'll call him and tell him that you took off your shirt to seduce a foreigner," Day threatened, causing Kim to immediately grab his own shirt that was floating in the water and put it on. He secretly cursed Day in his mind because he didn't want Salmon to hear bad words.

"Itt, go play in the water. You don't have to take off your shirt,” Day said to his lover again.

"Damn it. Wow, I'm not a woman. Why is this jealous? People can't even look at me," Itt complained.

“If something can be taken, people will take it. It’s best not to tempt a deer with deer feed. These days, people don’t care,” Day said because he noticed many foreign men who looked at Kim and Itt. Even Day himself was stared at Itt as if he wanted to eat it. After he heard Day say this, Itt wore his shirt in the pool. Day sitting and looking at the side of the pool until some time passed. It was almost 4 pm, so Kim invited Itt and Salmon to play at the beach. Day did not forbid anything. The three of them carried their belongings and walked towards the beach.

"Itt, don't take your nephew in too deep of water," Day ordered, which Itt nodded in acknowledgment. He knew what Day meant. After a while, Itt got out of the water and walked towards Day. He left Kim in charge of Salmon.

"What is it?" Day asked.

“I’m tired. Let me sit down and rest first," Itt said as he sat down next to Day. Day brought a towel to cover Itt because the wind was blowing.

"Where are we going to have dinner this evening?" Itt asked because he was worried about someone coming to capture Kim.

"Let's order something from the hotel's restaurant to eat in our room," Day said back, looking around for something wrong. When he turned to look at Itt, he noticed his expression.

"Are you disappointed?" Day asked, causing Itt to look at him in confusion.

"Disappointed over what?" Itt asked back.

"Instead of the three of us coming to relax comfortably, we have to sit and be careful to watch over Kim," Day asked seriously. Itt shook his head.

"I’m not disappointed. Why would you ask that?" Itt asked back.

"I saw you sitting there, staring off into space, so I thought you were upset," said Day.

"No, I'm thinking about what to order for dinner tonight. I want to eat Ho Mok Talay today,” Itt said honestly because he really wanted to eat that. Day froze for a moment before raising his hand playfully rub Itt's back and forth.

“I thought you were upset. Damn, you are just sitting and thinking about eating. It’s really nice," Day said.

"What is?" Itt asked back.

“Seeing you bite your lip," Day said before being lightly punched on the shoulder by Itt to cover up his embarrassment. Salmon called for Itt again.

"Dammit, I better go play in the water," Itt said before running down to play with Kim and Salmon.

"Kim, Itt, Salmon, get out of the water now." Day came to call the three to get our. As they walked back from the water, Day handed Itt and Kim a towel. The other towel was wrapped around Salmon's body as Day him back to the hotel.  

The three of them went to take a shower and change clothes. Day ordered food to be delivered to the room. After Itt finished his shower, Day went in to take a shower and came out again. Food and drinks were delivered soon after.

"Are we eating in the room tonight?" Kim asked as he walked out of his bedroom.

"Hmm, we've been playing in the water since afternoon. Everyone must be tired. That's why I ordered food to eat in the room." Day said back before setting the table.

"Ho Mok Seafood. Ahh, it’s what I was craving... Thank you, Day." Itt cried out happily that Day ordered exactly what he had wanted.

"Hmm, your wife wants to eat here. That's why you ordered it," Kim said teasingly.

"I have to take care of him. Otherwise, he will say I’ve lost interest," Day teased his lover. Itt laughed before taking Salmon to sit on the chair. Then, everyone sat down to eat in the room while talking about various things. When they were full, they sat and watched TV together.

"Uncle Itt, my back hurts," said Salmon. Itt looks exactly where Salmon puts his hand on it. He saw that Salmon had gotten sunburnt.

“Day, Salmon still got sunburnt. I think the sunscreen was too weak,” Itt said.

"That is why I didn’t want him to take off his shirt to play in the water." Day complained a little.

"Take a towel soaked in skimmed milk and put it on. It will help," said Kim.

"The hotel probably won't have one," said Day.

"I’ll just go out and buy some at the convenience store. That's all," Kim said back.

"No, I'm forbidding you from going anywhere." Day said, causing Kim to make a confused expression.

"Then, I'll go out myself," Itt said back.

"You're forbidden from leaving too," Day ordered again.

"Then, what do you want me to do? Wait until the morning? Salmon is hurting," Itt asked. Day frowned.

"I’ll go out and buy it myself. You two, stay in the room with Salmon. Don't open the door for anyone. Do you two understand?” Day commanded because he didn't know who was going to take or if they had arrived in Koh Chang yet.

“Are you ordering me like this because someone is going to do something to me?” Kim asked curiously.

"Come on. Prevention is better than cure. I'll be gone for a bit, then I'll be back." Day said back before grabbing his wallet and walking out. Itt immediately closed the door and locked it.

"What's the matter, Itt?" Kim asked, surprised by Day seeming to be overly concerned.

"There's nothing here, Salmon. We can go sleep in Uncle Day's room. I'll put some cream on it to help the burning goes away," Itt said to his nephew before leading him into the bedroom where they were sleeping. Kim then went to bring a towel to wrap ice from the refrigerator for Itt to put on Salmon.

Knock, knock

A knock sounded on the door of the room, causing Kim and Itt to look at each other in surprise because Day just left a moment ago.

"I'll go see for myself," he said before walking out of the room and towards the door.

"Who is it?" Itt asked back while looking at the peephole. He saw a man in a clean white suit, which Itt did not recognize as the hotel uniform.

"Room service," the other person replied.

"I haven't ordered anything." Itt replied again.

"I came to collect the plates," replied the other.

"Who is it?" Kim walked out and asked.

"They said they came to collect the plates, Kim," Itt turned to Kim.

"Right, then open it for him to come in," Kim said, reaching over to open the door. Itt was not able to stop him in time.

Suddenly!!

As soon as Kim opened the door, the party outside the door immediately slammed the door in, causing Kim to take a step back.

"P’ Kim, hurry up and hide in the room!!” Itt shouted immediately before going to kick the person who walked in.

"Whoa. Who are you?" Kim yelled, pulling Itt out of concern.

"Come with us, nicely, if you don't want to get hurt," the two men who had entered the room said in a deep voice. Kim and Itt tried to escape into the bedroom, but Kim was pulled by his hair.

"Let go of him!" Itt shouted as he rushed forward to punch the opponent, but he was not able to make contact because the other party was very skilled at dodging. Now, Kim was struggling with another big man. As for Itt, he was fighting the second  man.

"Uncle Itt," Salmon's voice sounded as the small child walked out of the bedroom.

"Salmon! Go into the room," Itt told nephew in a panic.

Suddenly!!

As he turned to look at his nephew, the man who fought with Itt swung the back of his hand against Itt’s face. Itt could taste the blood on his mouth.

“Damn it!! Don’t hurt my Nong… you want me, right? I'll go with you, guy, but don't do anything to him," Kim yelled at the other when he saw Itt being slapped.

“Take him away," the man who had hit Itt was told by the other man. Itt object and rushed straight to pull Kim immediately.

"Uncle Itt...Stop it... Uncle Itt," Salmon, who saw the incident in front of him, was so shocked and began to sob.
