Liz is in the bunker with Sam, when Dean walks in and Sam says, "Yo." Dean says, "Don't suppose either of you got a 20 on the Darkness." Dean hands them both a beer and Liz says, "Uh, well, I thought I had something earlier. Half a town flipped their gourds and started attacking people, but it turns out they'd eaten rabid possum meat." Dean says, "Okay, they do realize that possum is a giant rat, right?" Liz says, "It's a marsupial." Dean looks clueless at Liz and says, "Huh?" Sam says, "Not the point. Look, check this out. Um, "A couple was ax-murdered in Fall River, Massachusetts, at"-- wait for it-- "The Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast Museum." Dean says, "A B&B and a museum." Sam says, "Yeah." Dean says, "That doesn't sound like a tourist trap at all." Sam says, "I mean, the thing is, the Inn was Lizzie Borden's actual house. In 1892, she hacked up her dad and stepmom there. Or allegedly hacked them up. She was acquitted, ended up spending the rest of her days in Fall River hounded and persecuted by the townspeople." Liz says, "So, you're thinking revenge killing? Why now?" Dean says, "It was probably just some psycho fan who's seen too many slasher flicks." Sam says, "Could be, but the Inn was locked up, no signs of entry or exit, a half a dozen guests, none of whom saw or heard any intruders." Dean says, "Well, maybe the murderer was actually competent. Wait a minute. I know what this is. This has something to do with your freaky fetish for-- for serial killers." Sam says, "It's not a fetish." Dean says, "You've always wanted to see that house." Sam says, "Guys, two people are dead in Lizzie Borden's home. We got no leads on Amara. I say we check this out. Besides, the entire Borden clan are buried in Fall River, including Lizzie." Dean says, "What do you want to do about Cass?" Liz says, "Oh, he's knee-deep in binge-watching "The Wire." Just started season 2." Dean says, "Oh, yeah, he's not coming out any time soon." Later, the three of them are on the road. Later, they arrive in Fall River, Massachusetts at the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast Museum. They're in the lobby and Sam says, "I guess now Lizzie Borden has her own doll." Dean says, "Yeah, went a little overboard on the crazy eyes." A man who's on the phone says, "No, it's absolutely not a crime scene anymore. Look, the room's been cleaned, and you're not even on the same floor. Th-- There's no reason to canc--" The man gets hanged up on and sighs putting the phone away. The three of them walk over to the man and Dean says, "People still freaked out about the murders, huh?" The man says, "Some find it exciting. Can I help you three?" Sam says, "Yeah. We'd read about the tragedy, and I'm a bit of a history buff. And I just wanted to ask, do you think the killings had anything to do with Lizzie Borden-- I mean, her ghost, or whatever?" Dean says, "Probably just some crazed fan broke in, right?" The man says, "These are great questions, guys-- Ones we usually answer for our paying guests." Liz says, "Of course." Liz takes out her wallet and places some cash on the desk, when a woman walks in and angrily says, "Mason! You forgot to cancel the bakery order!" Mason looks at his mom annoyed and says, "Mom, I'm with customers." Mason's mother ignores her son and says, "$200 worth of Danish and no guests to eat it!" Mason says, "These guys can put away a few." Mason's mom says, "It's coming out of your paycheck." Mason's mom walks away, and Mason sighs and says, "Of course it is." Dean says, "Working with family can be tough." Sam looks at Dean offended, and Mason says, "20 years. And you have your pick of rooms." Liz says, "We'll take the one the couple was in." Mason says, "The deceased couple?" The three nod and Dean says, "Mm-hmm. We came a long way to see some ghosts. We figured there's the most unrest there." Mason says, "Uh, we're not renting that room right now... out of respect." Liz takes out more cash and places it on the desk. Mason says, "But you got to get back on that horse sometime. Lucky. We redid the room." Mason hands over the key and Liz grabs it and says, "Great. And now that we are paying guests, did you hear or see anything unusual that night?" Mason says, "Not till we heard the screams. I told mom to stay downstairs, and I ran up there. Oh, God. Blood." Dean says, "And who was the couple?" Mason says, "Local kids. I mean, nothing special about the girl, but the guy-- He was a descendant of the original Bordens." Sam says, "Thanks." Later, the three of them are in Lizzie's room and it's very florally. Dean says, "I don't know where to put my eyes. I think I'm gonna throw up." Sam chuckles and says, "We're surrounded by Doilies. They're everywhere." Dean says, "Okay, you think the Innkeeper might have mentioned this before he ripped us off." Sam looks at the single bed and says, "I guess you two are gonna have to get yourself another room because this was Lizzie's original room, and I'm not giving it up." Dean says, "What are you, 4?" Sam gets out an EMF and it's going crazy. Sam says, "Look at that. That jibes with what people online have been saying about the upstairs-- crying in empty rooms, footsteps, buzzing lights." While the three of them check out the room, Sam says, "No secret panels or passageways in the closet." Dean says, "Well, the world's smallest bathroom is clean. What is that smell?" Sam picks up an old fashion bottle of perfume and he says, "I think it's this. It's like a lavender toilet water." Liz wrinkles her noise in disgust and Dean says, "Bottle toilet water?" Sam sprays it and Dean says, "Why do you keep spraying it?" Sam says, "I just wanted to see if the squeezy thing worked." Liz softly chuckles at how adorable Sam is. Dean says, "Wow." Sam says, "I think it was supposed to be a perfume or something." Liz says, "All right, I'm gonna go check out the rest of the Inn." Dean says, "Me too, because I got grandma all over me." Liz and Dean leave the room and they split up. Liz takes out her EMF and starts following the noise, when she turns a corner that leads her to a staff only door. Liz turns the knob, but the door is locked. Liz then picks the lock and opens the door walking in. Liz holds her hand up to light her way, as she walks up the stairs that lead her to an attic with a bunch of old junk. Liz then hears a noise and follows it to find a blanket where the noise is coming from. Liz takes the blanket off and finds an EMF generator and she scoffs. Later, Liz walks back into Lizzie's room and looks at the guys and says, "Yeah, no Lizzie in the attic. But I did find a homemade EMF generator. Turned that beast off, and what do you know-- no more signal." Dean says, "Shocking. The, uh, flickering lights-- wired to timers buried in the walls." Sam says, "Come on." Dean says, "Oh, and check out this baby." Dean removes a picture from a wall to see a hidden speaker and he continues to say, "Covering up our very own sound system. I, uh, fished this out of the wall." Dean plays the remote and they hear a woman sobbing. Sam scoffs and says, "Crying in empty rooms." Dean says, "And there's more-- running footsteps, uh, creepy whispers you can't quite make out, one flushing toilet-- not quite sure what that's about. The whole place is a hoax, man. It's a tourist trap, just like I said." Sam says, "Yeah, but we still don't know how that couple got axed. I mean, how did the killer get in and out?" Dean says, "I don't know. Why don't we sherlock that over a beer and a lobster roll, okay? I got to get out of this doily coffin." Later, the three of them come back to see a bunch of police and find out Mason's mother was killed. Liz walks over to the detective and takes out her badge and says, "Detective Madsen? Agent Collins." Detective Madsen shakes Liz's hand and Mason looks at Liz and says, "You weren't Feds earlier." Liz says, "Well, um, my partners and I were undercover investigating the original murders." Mason angrily says, "Were the hell were you when my mom was being..." Mason sobs not finishing his sentence. Liz softly says, "I'm so very sorry, Mr. Kemper." Mason sobs and Detective Madsen says, "We're gonna find the son of a bitch who's doing this." Detective Madsen and Liz walk away from Mason and Detective Madsen says, "He had just finished locking up. No one was inside but him and Mrs. Kemper. Staff went home hours ago." Liz says, "And no suspects for the first murders, either?" Detective Madsen shakes his head. Dean and Sam walk up, and Dean says, "Hi. I'm Agent Gabriel and this is Agent Michaels. Listen, I saw a guy hanging around earlier, uh, snapping some photos, and he ran away when I tried to make contact." Detective Madsen says, "Let me guess-- short, chunky, baby-faced?" Dean says, "Yeah, that's him." Detective Madsen chuckles and says, "That's Len. Total teddy bear. I went to high school with him. Obsessed with ghosts, but harmless." Sam says, "Ghosts? Hmm. Is that a real issue around here?" Detective Madsen says, "According to the chamber of commerce, absolutely." Sam nods and says, "Right." Detective Madsen says, "I'll send an officer over to Len, get a statement from him." Sam says, "You know what? You guys got your hands full. We'll, uh-- we'll drop by." Detective Madsen says, "Mm-hmm. You betcha." Sam says, "Thanks."
