Chapter 8: The Foot Leader

Dread and horror filled the young turtle's mind as this was not the Leonardo he remembered and loved but it was still him nonetheless.

"Now you know how I got that scar" Raphael sadly rubbed his head where the scar of the wound that Leo gave him was.

"How would Leo do such a thing? He would always be there for us, he was like a mother hen to us, bros" Mikey cried out.

"It's like I said, death can change a person for the worse and Leo...he's changed so badly that he went down the same path as the Shredder did" Donatello replied.

"I have to find him," Mikey quickly announced.

"Mikey, no" Raphael stopped his baby brother.

"Leo needs me! Don't you see?! It's all because I disappeared that Leo became like this now so maybe if I go to him and let him see that I'm still alive then maybe he can be the Leo we love again" Mikey explained, determined to bring his eldest brother back to the light.

"Little bro, we all wish Leo would be back with us but it's not so simple" Donnie sighs.

"Leo has chosen his path and nothing can bring him back to the person we once knew and even if you do find him, he'll be pleased but he won't change" Raphael explained.

"If anything he'll keep you locked up in his lair so you won't be out of his sight" Donatello predicted what Leo might do.

"I have to try" said Mikey as he was about to leave.

Raphael grabbed Mikey and firmly said: "No! I'm sorry, little bro, but we're not losing you again!"

"You have to stay with us, bro; we can protect you" Donnie added.

"I'm stronger than you think" Mikey protested.

"We know but we don't want Leo to hurt you like he did with us" Raphael argued.

"But I-!" Mikey whimpered.

"No! You must stay here, promise us you won't go looking for Leo" Donnie forced Mikey.

"Guys, please" Mikey begged.

"Promise us!" Raphael firmly demanded.

"Alright, alright! I promise" Mikey miserably gave in.

"We're sorry buddy but this is what's best for everyone" Donnie apologised and rubs Mikey's head.

"C'mon little bro, it's getting late" Raphael said.

The turtle soon realises it was over 2am in the morning and was feeling tired so he just nodded and went with Raphael.

"I'm heading back to my hideout, I'll come by tomorrow and check up on you guys" Donnie nodded.

"Donnie" Raphael looks at his cybernetic brother: "Thank you"

Donatello smiles since this is the first time in a long time that Donnie and Raph talked together without fighting much or being distant from each other, and it was all because of their baby brother that they are so overjoyed to have back in their lives.

"No worries, Raph" Donnie winked then turns to Mikey and gives him one more hug: "Sleep well, Mikey, I love you bro"

Mikey hugged him back: "I love you too, D"

As soon as Donatello leaves the house, Raphael lays Mikey on a mattress and covers them both with a blanket.

"Sorry if the bed is not much but it's hard to find things nowadays" Raphael awkwardly apologised.
