In the first series of Torchwood, Tosh, Owen, Suzie and Ianto have no idea that Jack can't die until a few episodes in but for my story they already know. Also, I'm rubbish at describing rooms so for those that aren't familiar with the Torchwood hub, the photos below show what it looks like.
