Even if I somehow managed to suppress my primitive ways of acting, I still had a lot to learn about the main aspects of emotional intelligence.

Why?

Mostly because an individual who possessed true emotional intelligence wouldn't have thrown a tantrum, and then stormed out of an important conversation because his opinion wasn't taken into consideration.

Just exactly as I did.

When Brandon refused to accept the twisted reality I had fallen into, one where my vicious enemy had somehow taken my place in an important memory of mine, I immediately refused to listen furtherly to what he had to say.

Sure, there must have been some logical explanation for what both of us had witnessed, but I wasn't exactly in the right mindset to wait for a simplification.

So don't be surprised when I claim that my next action was to kick the nearest trash can, a nasty habit of mine I had acquired lately, and then escape the promises of the suddenly asphyxiated office.

"Don't you dare follow me!" I said behind my shoulder as I frantically sprinted towards the nearby exit.

I desperately needed to leave the police department I had spent half of my day in, doing all sorts of extracurricular activities, and head home as fast as I could to clear my head.

My decision wasn't exactly planned, hence why half of my clothing was missing, but my mentality demanded an instant fresh breath of air.

Something I had yet to realize that wasn't going to happen for the rest of the evening.

"What the hell?" I loudly exclaimed as I took notice of the locked entrance in front of me.

What previously felt like a light wooden doorway, now represented more of a sealed exit that was more suitable for a detention facility rather than a standard police department.

No matter how much force I applied to it, it was continuing to stand proudly unopened.

It was almost as if it was suddenly made of stone, and not actual lumber.

"This can't be happening!" I exclaimed as I made another attempt to open what seemed to be my only way out.

Not surprisingly, the heavy gateway didn't even budge and even swung back at me in response to my persistent desire to open it.

"That's more than great. Just what I needed." I expressed my frustration, slowly accepting the fact that I had to search for another outlet.

An outcome that I was inexplicably expecting in advance.

Let's just say that my inner intuition was well aware that bad things come in three.

So what was going to be my third demise for today?

I was left to wonder while I skipped my way to the office that had become my second home.

Or was love fest a more appropriate term?

"I'm sorry for the way I acted, but we have bigger issues than my problematic attitude." I started talking as soon as I walked back into the neatly ordered workspace.

Only to immediately take notice of my latest fling's sudden absence.

"Brandon?" I whispered, hoping that he was still around to ease my way out of our mutual problem.

Nothing.

"This isn't funny." I said a little louder.

Still no response.
