Chapter Twenty-Two: Disasters

Dakota's POV

I sneak upstairs as as Suze and everyone's spread out around the house, I smile as I open the door to Cassie's room and see knitting in her bed

"Hey Cas...snuck up here before the birthday girl could drag me anywhere else" I say as I walk over to Cassie who a,Ike's and puts her needles down

She pulls me into a tight hug and I hug her back with a smile

"Hey....how's the party" She asks and I shrug with a sigh

"It's good...but it's gonna suck once Nate gets here....but your m9m being drunk is a hit of a bright side" I say with a laugh, Cassie frowns which causes my laugh to subside

"Nate's coming....god" Cassie says getting upset and I grab her shoulder lightly and make her face me again

"Woah Woah Woah.....he's not gonna come up here ok...plus if you need water or anything just let me get it for you so you don't have to see him" I say and Cassie smiles but shakes her head

"It's ok just....don't wanna be caught in a room alone with him..especially since I don't know what his game is anymore...I'll get my stuff quick then come back up like I have been" Cassie says and I go to protest but Maddy yells my name up the stairs

"Ugh.....coming!....I have to go but...I'll check on you in a bit" I say and Cassie smiles, heroes kissing my cheek which catches me off guard

She blushes and pulls away but I pull her back and kiss her forehead before rushing out the room, hearing her giggles a bit as I leave

I come downstairs to see Maddy a the bottom of the stairs with her hands on her hips

"Come on, your missing Cassies mom shaking ass" Maddy says before pulling me away but I see Kat looking sad in the side

"Hey Kat....you ok" I ask and Kat shakes her head sadly and I can tells she's been crying, I look to Maddy who sighs

"I got this...go have fun" Maddy says and I nod before walking to the main area where BB and Suze are dancing

They pull me in and BB starts grind on me as Suze laughs and dances with her back on mine, I laugh and just go along with it as Lexi watches from afar like a disappointed mother

The doorbell rings and I detach from BB and Suze to answer it, I open the door to see Nate looking at me with a smug look causing me to clench my jaw

"Hey" He says and I just move out of the way from him to come in, he walks in and smokes towards me one more time before walking off to where Maddy may be, I look to Lexi who gives me a look

I give her the same one before grabbing a beer and drinking some of it as I sit on the couch and BB sits in my lap

Suze and I talk about everything for a bit, I look over to Nate standing by the door and I feel my blood boil as I look at him

What is Maddy planning because I don't think she'd just invite him like that's d not be planning to do some petty shit

I get up and walk over to him and as I do, he turns to me and smiles

"You seen Cassie anywhere" Nate asks in a douchey tone and i scoff

"She's not here asshole....worry about Maddy since you two are back together now" I say and he laugh

"Try not to sound jealous...who do you like at this point...Maddy or Cassie...because I know who I like" Nate says as he folds his arms

"Really....do you actually...I think it's neither" I say and Nate clenches his jaw, I go to say something else when suddenly I turn and see Maddy AND Cassie walking down the stairs together
