Hipsters were different, but now they're the trend,

I've been prepared for the confusion emanating,

You mistake my sarcasm for rudeness and presence

But throw out all those thoughts from my resting head
Plus I can't sleep, all I do is wonder and lay,
And think about the next day, insomnia comes into play
And I replace the monster in my bed with a new pair of Toms
And I hang up a poster I got from my spiritual mom
Saying 'HOPE' and read it before the end,
As I put on those jeans that do need a mend
And read the morning paper, grab my old skater'
And ride down the slope that was once a crater
Well, difference is individuality,

And now, even after it all,
You still think my platform shoes' a little too tall
And my DIY dreamcatcher a little too much
But it doesn't really matter, I think it's just enough
And your doughnuts are my marshmallow fluff
I have a pet turtle, while your's are just stuffed
'Yolo' your excuse for burning your skin,
And you have the nerve to call me emo,
And yes I still watch Up and Finding Nemo
While you watch movies with Robert De Niro
And I sing at the most inappropriate times,
And try to talk in only riddles and rhymes
So if you can't handle it, go to the back of the line,
And talk your bullsh^t at the 'I don't care' sign
Because frankly, I'm me, not a copycat other
I don't need your compliments, I've got enough from my mother
Like me? Great! Don't? Even better...
I'm not gonna cry over a little rainy weather
I'll await the rainbow, or the 'yet to come' snow
And dance in the present rain, giving you all a show
So enough's enough, I'm not bluffin'
