Feelings
Alice became clingy to both me and Faye after that one incident. Not annoyingly clingy but like a little sister always wanting to know more about me. She's so curious because she said she had always been a fan of princesses and princes.
I told her everything from living a lonely life at the palace to pretending as Lia Martinez. I admit, I got scared giving away all these details but somehow, telling Alice about the truth made me feel like I do belong here now. I have a friend I can trust, a friend I earned while staying here.
"Alright, see you!" She waved at me before she walked towards her boyfriend.
"I still think it's a bad idea. I'm gonna keep an eye on her," Faye whispered to me. Tumango lang ako at hindi umimik.
Pumasok na 'ko sa loob ng laboratory at dumiretso sa likuran. Nagtaka ako na wala pa si Rohan dahil madalas, siya ang nauuna dito. I wore my lab gown and just as I was tying my hair, a cup of hot coffee was placed in front of me.
"Good morning." I looked up and got startled to see Rohan smiling at me. Tumabi na siya sa akin at nagsuot na rin ng lab gown.
"Thank you," nahihiyang sambit ko. This is weird. Why will he buy me a coffee?
"You look nice today," he commented.
I suddenly felt conscious. I didn't know he'll notice my appearance today. I took an extra hour this morning to dress up. I'm wearing a jean skirt and a blue long sleeve. Then I curled my hair a little. I'm just in a good mood when I woke up so I decided to change my look a little bit.
"Oh. Uhmm. Grazie." I took a seat and he did too.
"And she speaks Italian too. What else have you studied?" amused na tanong niya. "Do you know Portuguese?"
I took a sip on the coffee that he gave me while debating if I should lie or not. Will it do me good if I tell him I do? I just learned it last year.
"Nah," pagsisinungaling ko na lang. "Kumusta pala?"
Rohan playfully rested his hand on top of my head. "Are you still asleep or what?"
Agad kong inalis iyon at umiwas ng tingin. I don't want people to have the wrong idea. He's dating someone right now. Baka mapagkamalan pa 'kong lumalandi ng jowa ng iba.
"What are you talking about?" I asked in a low voice.
He chuckled. "Magkasama lang tayo kahapon. Bakit nangangamusta ka bigla, Lia?"
I meant, how was his date with Angel?
Thankfully, before I could say anything, our science teacher arrived. Nakinig na lang ako sa instructions niya regarding sa activity namin today.
"Pass me the beaker please," he mumbled.
Sobrang pagiingat ang ginawa ko ng kinuha ko iyon. May laman kasi iyon at ayoko namang makabasag dahil pagtitinginan lang ako ng mga tao. Ngayong araw na nga lang medyo tumigil ang mga tingin at usapan ng mga tao tungkol sa akin. It seems like they are finally starting to get used to my presence here in CU.
