Maddie and I stood on the beach skipping stones into the ocean. Surprisingly, I was actually pretty good.
Maddie on the other hand, well she wasn't great. But it was cute, watching her try.
After a little bit, she flopped down on the sand, looking defeated.
"Giving up already?" I asked, smiling.
"There is no hope for me," she stated, with an overdramatic tone to her voice.
I laughed.
Why was she so cute without even trying?
"Oh come on," I said, reaching out my hand towards her, "I'll help you."
She took him hand and I helped her up, handing her the rock in my hand.
"Now, you're gonna wanna bend down a little bit, lean back and throw. Its all in the wrist," I stated.
She tried and ended up just chucking it.
"You know what, it could be worse," i said smiling.
I bent down and found another flat rock and handed it to her.
"Here, take this." I instructed.
And she did.
"Now, when you throw it flick your wrist more,"
I grabbed her wrist and guided her hand.
"Better than last time," I remarked, smiling.
It wasn't awful. She got it to hit the water twice. Better than before.
Maddie smiled but then sat back down, "That's a lot a work,"
"Oh yeah?" I smiled, sitting done next to her.
"Yeah," she whispered, laying her head on my shoulder.
My heart stopped. My breath became shallow. I became light headed.
Why was this happening to me?
But it was also one of the best moments of my life.
