Chapter Thirty-Two

Max ran forward, pressing herself through the walls of the gates. She stretched her arm out and yelled, "Billy!"

He turned around, the sight on the doors coming closer to her made his eyes widened, he ran towards her, "Max, what the hell are you doing?"

From the other side, Steve ran to her, taking her hand to make sure she did not fall in, "Max, the doors are going to close!"

Max and Billy heard him shout, "You're going to get hurt, go, please." He tried pushing on her shoulders

"I'll move if you come with me." Her hand remained empty but opened

"I'm not going to fit. It's already too tight."

El moved herself from Mike's arm, reaching her arm to use the small amount of power she had left to keep the doors open.

Lucas stood beside Steve, shoving on the walls, feeling a slight change, "I'm going to need some help." He annoyingly looked at the others

Eddie and Dustin ran to his side, forcing the walls to widen. Argyle with Jonathan pressed their weight by shoulder to the wall

Steve continued to pull on Max. When the gate was extended enough, he took hold of her torso, drawing her the way through.

Max stumbled back, "Steve, please!" Tears threatened to fall from her eyes. He saw Robin watching him think

He backed up closer to the gate, "Don't you dare!" Robin yelled out though he had already run through the gate

"I don't think we can hold it much longer." Jonathan's pressure weakened, Eddie used his back rather than his arms

"They better make it through."

Eleven collapsed to the ground, Will bent at the knees beside her, "What is it? What's wrong?"

She stared at her hand, turning in left and right, "My power, it's gone...again."

Dustin staggered backward, resting his hands on his knees, "I can't hold it anymore." Following him was Jonathan.

"Harrington, what the hell do you think you're doing?" Billy asked, attempting to force him back into the other side

Steve grabbed Billy's hands off his shoulders and held them, "Billy, you know how you had to tell me something? Well, I have to tell you something."

"Now?" Billy questioned, watching the gate behind him, "What's so important that you -"

"I love you, like a lot." Billy removed Steve's hands from his, 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳-

Billy brung in Steve's lips to his, he took in Billy's waist, turning him around Steve pushed him through the gate

Billy fumbled back. Before falling, Max caught him, and Steve shoved himself through almost tripping ahead.

The gates pinched on his jacket, and he pulled his arms out, looking behind him. He tried tugging it out, but there was no budge

Max pushed Billy, "What took you idiots so long?" She yelled

"We made it, didn't we?" Steve turned his head, making a remark, pursing to get back his jacket

"Just barely dinguses." Robin crossed her arms, "What were you even thinking Billy?"

"I was trying to save these two." He pointed to El and Will, "Then this one came in for no reason." He glared at Max, receiving the same face

"I thought you were going to die."
