The new Marinette (Marinette as Jade West)

Chapter 16

Walking out of the school we made it to his car. It was a 1967 Pontiac GTO (I had to look this up, I don't know a thing about cars.) As I went to open the passenger door he beat me to it and held the door open for me.

I got silent and mumbled a thank you as he closed the door. Why was he being so nice to me? We just met about a day or two ago.

As we drove there it was mostly silent till he turned the radio and let it play, "why did you ask me to come with you?" I asked before he had the chance to say anything.

Beck turned to look at me and then his eyes darted back to the road in front of us, "well upon meeting you, you were different" he spoke taking a glance at her as they stopped in front of a red light.

"What do you mean by different?" Jade asked, turning her head to look at the man sitting across from her.

Different could mean many things: was it a good or bad reason for all she knew he could have figured it out or to humiliate her this could take a turn for the worse.

"Honestly, you intrigued me from when we first met, there was... something about you that drew me to you" Beck spoke as they took a turn into a parking lot.

The two were quiet as they walked out of the car, Marinette had been surprised by his words he had been interested in her after a few days and he barely knew much about her, for an unknown reason she felt as though she could trust him.

Looking around the building was a bright red with a simple silver sign that had Nozu written on it. The two walked in and took a seat at the circular shaped section of a bar table that was placed in the centre of the room and had booths across the walls.

They sat next to each other and ordered multiple sushi dishes for the two of them "so, where are you from?" Beck asked, grabbing his chopsticks.

"Europe" Jade answered, grabbing a piece off of the tray and she had to admit it was pretty good, "it's good isn't it, this is the best sushi place in town. So where in Europe if you wouldn't mind me asking?"

"France huh, tu es belle mademoiselle" (I used google translate so hopefully it's right) Beck spoke while taking a bite of a piece of sushi, though he enjoyed Jade's reaction to his words.

She had blushed after he spoke in french to her, he had taken french as language for one of his electives.

Marinette was shocked with his words, he had said the words so casually and ended it with a simple grin before taking a piece of his food. Beck stated the words so simply and it surprised her.
