Zander's Perspective:

As much as I thought giving Rose this romantic and relaxing evening before her transition would drive my wolf crazy, I was actually feeling very peaceful while giving her space to calm any nerves she may have been experiencing and enjoy her last night of being completely human. I was sitting on the couch reading old pack research about human to wolf transitions and other ancient stories of the human mates of alphas. The history documented in the pack's books seemed to indicate that there had never really been unfavorable outcomes with changing humans so long as they were the true mates of the alphas changing them. The only mishaps I could find documentation of included minor things like not being able to communicate freely with their wolf or occasional issues with voluntary shifting. But I would take those complications over life-threatening ones any day. It comforted me to find that the transition had been done successfully even if it was before the memory of any currently surviving pack members. I knew it was keeping myself and my wolf calm and collected to focus on this research, rather than my mate relaxing in the romantic setup I created in the next room, especially knowing what we would be doing tonight.

Then she walked out of the bedroom.

Her long brown hair was wrapped up in a white towel on top of her head and she was wearing the nude-colored loungewear set that I bought her earlier this week and laid out for her for the evening. The high-waisted shorts paired with the cropped sweatshirt accentuated her waist and called me into her. She smiled at me as I patted the space next to me and she gleefully found her place at my side. She curled up next to me and her legs fell over my lap naturally as my hands were suddenly not holding my book anymore, but rather feeling along her perfectly toned legs.

"How are you feeling?" she asked me sweetly.

"Me? How are you feeling?" I returned.

"Zander, I already told you. I'm comfortable, I'm at peace, and I'm ready. I want to be a part of your world and protect people and raise a family with you. It's all a no brainer for me really," she explained slowly as she looked down at my hands on her.

"You're not worried about anything that could happen during your transition?" I asked her calmly as I ran my hands up and down her legs, comforting both of us with the physical touch.

"No more worried than I am about what could happen if I don't undergo the transition," she replied quickly. I just started at her for a moment. Even in her humanity, she had every single quality of the perfect luna.

"You have no idea," I paused with a smile while she looked at me curiously, "how perfect of a luna you're going to be," I finished. She simply smiled at me in response. "You're a perfect mate already. You're so trusting and you always welcome my affection for you even when it can be a lot, and I know that, so I'm grateful," I said as I placed my hand across her jaw and ran my finger along her cheekbone. "You accept me and want to be with me even though it's literally changing your reality. And with all the time I've known you so far, you just keep affirming how perfect you are as a girlfriend, a mate, all of it," I told her truthfully.

"It feels natural with you," she said as she blushed a deep pink. "But I'm not perfect and I'm just glad you don't hold it against me when I do need time to process. Plus, you don't hold me to any expectations and that makes it so much easier," she added as she placed her hands on mine.

"Rose, you're a human being," I said as I turned to face her. "You're literally a human and before this, you had only read legends about creatures like me on the internet. Now it's real and it's in front of you and you're handling it so well. But it's not even just that, you're going above and beyond with how selfless you're thinking and how connected you are to the pack already, that's why I say you're already the perfect luna," I explained.
