CHAPTER 27

BLAST FROM THE PAST

SKYE POV

"Dad?"

I stared at the man standing at the door way and memories flooded in.

I forgot for a second that there were two other people in the room with us. All the happy memories from my childhood made its way into my mind and I was on the verge to run up and hug him. A smile broke out onto my face unknowingly and I took a step forward.

Then, all the horrible memories flooded in and I stopped dead in my tracks. My smile turned upside down.

"Skylar," he replied, a little taken back, seeing me here. He looked at Lawrence and Ray, who were now standing infront me and narrowed his eyes at them.

"Why is my daughter here?" James snapped. He took a few steps forward and glared at the two boys.

"Daughter," I scoffed.

James looked at me confused before returning his glare back at the two.

"Well, we needed her to get you here," Lawrence replied, no sign of emotion in his voice. "And here you are."

"I thought you were just kidding," James muttered angrily.

"Well we're not," Ray scoffed. "After what you did to our parents."

"It's fair you get your share of hurt as well," Lawrence added.

"Did they hurt you?" James asked me. I looked straight at him and gritted my teeth together. "I thought I told you to stay away from my family," He added glaring at Lawrence and Ray.

The balls you grew dad to ask me that question. And family? Huh.

"Now you care," I said rolling my eyes. I didn't answer his question and he took it as a, Why yes daddy, ofcourse they hurt me.

"Let her go. Now," He death panned. His tone almost made me flinch.

"No," Lawrence replied in a snappy tone.

"You good for nothing asshole," James replied taking a few steps forward and was soon standing right in front of the two. Right now, they felt like my two bodyguards.

Yup, the sames ones I was beating up earlier.

"Be a good little boy and listen to daddy," James said to Lawrence, who was clenching his fists at his side.

"Shut up!" Lawrence screamed. "Just shut up!"

James smirked and held my arm, pulling me to him. He pulled me towards the door but stopped when Ray held my other arm and pulled me back.

"She's leaving with me," James said in a cold tone. He narrowed his eyes at Ray who didn't look affected by it at all.

"No, she's not," He replied.

"Yes she is," James snapped. "Let her go. Now."

"I'm not leaving with you," I snapped at my so called father. His eyes widened in shock before he composed himself. "And I'm not staying here either." I looked at Ray and shook my arm out of his grip. I did the same with the hand James was holding and took a step back.  "Is it true what you did to their parents?"

Lawrence clenched his jaw and James glared at Lawrence.

"No, whatever they said was complete and utter bullshit," James replied with no emotion in his voice. It almost sounded sarcastic. Ray walked up to him and punched him straight in the nose.

"No!" I shrieked. My palms came up to my mouth.

Wait, why did I just scream for my dad?

I need to stop feeling sorry for this man. He was not my father.

Then why did I feel like I was being stabbed in the heart when Ray punched him?

Because he's still your father and you haven't accepted the fact that he's a murderer.

James straightened up and smirked at Ray.

"I never liked you boy," He said. "Or your mother."

This caused both the boys to throw themselves at James who tried his best to kick and punch and dodge at the same time. I stared at them in complete shock.

I couldn't move. I couldn't think straight.

Everything dawned onto me and I felt like I was being slapped with a brick over and over again.

I just saw my father after so many years. After he abandoned us.

Now he's back.

He's a murderer.

And my boyfriend kidnapped me. Ex-boyfriend to be specific.

My step brother wants to kill my father.

And I couldn't take it anymore.

It felt like the temperature had increased, even though it was really cold and raining outside.

My heart started beating really fast and tears brimmed my eyes.

This can't be happening. Not now.

Please someone make it stop.

George.  I need you.

I felt sweaty and tired, but there was some kind of adrenaline pumping in me. My legs felt weak but I still stayed on my feet.

My breathing picked up and I had to get out of here right now.

I was going to have a little panic attack. Or worse, a break down.

I slowly backed away from them as I watched James punch Lawrence in the face. Ray grabbed James by the collar and shoved him off, but James quickly recovered and kicked Ray in the chest.

My body started to shake and I felt a lump in my throat.

I need to get out right now. I turned on my heels and ran out the door.

I met the cold rain but still didn't stop. Not even for a breath.

Run. Run. Run.

I told myself over and over again. Don't stop.

I heard James calling my name as his voice was being drowned out by the rain. I turned a corner and looked behind me. My vision was blurry due to the rain and my tears, but I still noticed someone running after me. I couldn't figure out who it was though.

I ranas fast as I could and hid behind a tree. I leaned against it and brought my shaking hands up to my face and wiped away my tears. My hand went over my chest as I patted it gently, trying to get rid of my sobs.

Calm down. Keep yourself together.

Breathe.

In.

Out.

My body relaxed a little as the sound of footsteps were gone now. Whoever ran after me was finally gone.

My heart though, didn't slow down to it's normal pace. My mind was blank and this was bad. I didn't want to have a break down or a panic attack. I don't know how to contol it.

Please make it stop.

George. I need you.
