Jaide’s POV:

For the whole of this Class I couldn’t wipe him from my mind; the way that his eyes shone an unusual shade of blue whilst he spoke, the way he spoke...there was something about it, something different, kind of old fashioned. I didn’t even ask his name. Should I have? I shifted the weight of my head to my other arm that rested on the desk. I grimaced at the thought of him seeing me crying, what were the odds he would be in a girls' bathroom in the first place?  ‘Where is this?’ he asked. What kind of guy or person doesn’t know a bathroom when they see one? Great, we only talked for a second and I was already  analysing everything. Should I be worried? No I shouldn’t. So what if he was the first good looking guy to not deject me? So what if he smiled at me...

I shut off my thoughts and brought myself back to earth.  I was watching my teacher's lips move-not paying any real attention to what she was saying. She had too much lipstick on, some of it smudged on her tooth. I couldn’t make out her features from being such a distance from her but that red lipstick was  contrasting to the white painted walls of the classroom. I didn’t even know what this class was. So much for improving my grades.  My eyes scanned across the room and I saw that everyone else was paying attention. Every now and then they would sharpen their pencils or erase some notes they had taken down then continue writing. I shook my head and realised that I should have been doing the same, so there I was about to pick up my pencil- when the door opened.  It was him. I felt the corners of my mouth twitch.

I fidgeted with my pencil to distract me. Our eyes contacted.

My face heated and I suddenly took interest in the book that lay flat on my desk, my hair fell and was the only barrier between our eyes. With this I felt relief. Then the strangest sensation enveloped me, I could feel something warm and it was getting hotter, I furrowed my eyebrows and pulled my head up, now looking into the eyes of the one I tried to avoid. I heard myself gasp and he smirked.

“We meet again.” he said with gleaming eyes that told me he knew I was uncomfortable. He gave me one quick smile then swivelled on his seat in front of my desk to face the front. He leant back in his seat interlacing his fingers on his slick black hair. I should have said something, right? ‘Hi’ -or- ‘yes we do’?

A huge fraction of the class groaned  suddenly and for a second I was lost until  i noticed people pairing up. I locked gazes with Oryan across from me and he waved me over. I clapped my book shut and gathered my gear. A hand slammed on my desk.

“Wanna pair up?” he said. For a second I was overwhelmed by the shimmer of his eyes.

“Actually-”

“She was my partner.” said Oryan who'd suddenly appeared by my desk. How did he get here so fast? He placed his hand on my shoulder.

He threw his palms in the air, “fine.” he said.  “We’ll let her choose” his tone was playful and told me he knew how I’d handle this. They stared into each other, for a while this was getting ridiculous, not one of them flinched or even blinked...

“She doesn’t even know you.” Oryan finally said.

He leaned the slightest bit forward and smirked. “I wouldn't be the one to talk. And the idea s to pair up with someone...different.” his tone was low.

“Screw. You.”

 He chuckled. “Oh, wow, nice.”

“Jaide, let’s go.” said Oryan with a slight prompt of my shoulder. With not knowing what to say at this point I did as he said. I had never seen Oryan like that, well to be true I didn’t know him that well either. I just assumed he was the playful, cheerful guy that everyone wants to be friends with. Oryan started his journey to the other side of the classroom and I followed suit.
