(Backstory) Why I Always Smile

Flashback

"Mommy? Daddy?" A small child sheepishly asked peeking her head around the corner of the hall

As the girl walked down the hall of her small 2 bedroom, run-down house she found herself in the living room

"They aren't home yet..." The girl said with her voice filled with sorrow

The little girl sighed "Time to make breakfast!" She said wiping away her tears and putting on a big, bright smile

Beep Beep! Beep Beep!

"Uuuuuugh!" Amy groaned annoyed "That damn dream again..." Amy said confused "Why of all dreams, I have that 6 times in a row"

Amy walks over and flips her calendar over to the new month revealing the day today being marked with a birthday cake written with what looks to be sharpie

"Oh.... It's their day again" Amy said nearly as stone cold as Simone "Why, why did have to be them"

Flashback

"Good morning Amy!"

"Good morning teacher!" She replied enthusiastically

A few hours earlier

"Ok uhm" Amy said trying to remember how to cook rice "First clean then put water in! Right?"

A few minutes later

"Thank you Father, for this blessing you have given us today" Amy said praying for herself and for her parents even though they weren't home yet "Time to dig in, I hope mom and dad won't be mad for me cooking the rest of the rice"

Timeskip to afterclass

"Amy? Who are you waiting for?" Her teacher asked

"My mommy and daddy of course!"

"Really? It's been a whole hour now, it's just you and me here, are you sure they'll come to pick you up?"

"Of course! They're my mommy and daddy, they won't leave me!"

"How naive" The teacher thought "Come with me"

"Where are we going?"

"To the police station, I just want them to bring you home safe"

Timeskip

"Good morning, Can I help you?" The officer at the desk greeted the two

"Hi, I'm this girl's teacher and if I may can I ask you to escort this girl home, her parents haven't picked her up yet"

"What's your name little girl?" The officer asked

"Amy Thompson" She said

"Are your parents names are Lin and Jacob Thompson by chance?" The officer asked again

"Yes! Do you know my mommy and daddy?" Amy asked confused why this officer knew her parents

"Miss umm?"

"Brown, Rebecca Brown"

"Miss Brown, please sit down, and you too Miss Thompson I need to tell you both something..."

Flashback End

"This one please!" Amy said while pointing at a cake

"Is it someone specials birthday Amy?" The employee asked Amy with a teasing tone

"You could say that." She responded
