Mariana's POV

"A whole year eh? Happy anniversary to you" Leonard smile, crouching down to look at me
"No words today huh? No bite?" He asked, I just lay there
It was useless
It was all useless.

Polly's POV

She should be here to see this
Martha... Catherine... Mariana
They should all be here to see Finn and Nala taking their first steps
Eating proper foods, growing their teeth in.

And I... I should have my children here
I was missing out on so much of their life

"Ready Aunt Pol?" John asked, I snapped out of my thoughts, watching Freddie's sister rock Nala up and down on her knee, the little girl erupting into giggles.

"Yes" I said. I was more than ready.

"Have a day off" the boy at the gate said, tired of seeing us
"I want to see him" I said
"He's not here, for the millionth time" he said
"He got out of prison two days ago, he wouldn't be anywhere else" I said, tired of his attitude.

"Let them in" someone shouted from the cluster of vardos
He sighed, before begrudgingly opening the gate for us

John and Arthur trailed behind me.
I caught sight of him immediately
He looked scruffy, unkept.
Prison will do that to you I suppose
"What can I do for you?" Maloney asked, sat by the fire.

I noticed a large scar down the side of his neck.
Prison wasn't too kind then. Good
"You know why we are here" I said
"I know, but I have already told you, on many occasions I might add" he said, masking his annoyance.

"That I didn't have anything to do with it, and I don't fucking know where she is" he said
"Your brother told them about Mariana, that much I know, it'd serve you well to not lie" I said
"We did what we had to! We weren't going to be the only ones going down for that job" he said.

"Honour amongst thieves yeah?" He said
"You have no honour" I said
"Look I don't know where she is, I can't help you" he said
He must know
"She had your child" I said.

"Don't you think I've tried finding her? Tried finding my kid? I don't even know what she had" he said. The anger in his voice suggested he was being truthful
He didn't know where she was.
