Daryns POV.

When we go to Walmart Kiari was not a happy camper. They looked out the window then back at me.
"This not the park DD." Kiari stated.
"Remember I said we were gonna pick up some stuff before the park?"
"No, park now."
"Princess I told you we were going to the store. Then the park."
"But but, the park mama." Kiari said teary eyed. Oh gosh, my heart started to ache.
"My poor baby, how about this, you get to pick out one thing you want while we're here okay?"

"Anything?"
"Within reason my love."
"EEEEE LEGOS!" Kiari said jumping out the car and running towards the store.
"KI NO RUNNING!"
"SORRY SORRY COMING BACK SORRY." Kiari stood in front of the car while I grabbed the bags out the back. Kiari grabbed my hand and held it as we walked into the store.

"One hand on the cart okay? I don't want to lose you."
"Okay mommy!" We shopped around and Kiari hummed quietly, periodically whispering to themself. We got to the toy section and their eyes lit up.
"Legos?"
"Yes, you can get a set." I trailed behind Kiari as they picked up every box.
"This one please." They said while showing me a dinosaur set.
"Okay my little scientist, let's go check out."
"Yayy okay!!"

Kiari walked next to me as we walked to check out. You would not believe who was working at the stupid line. It was too late for us to turn around.
"Hey did you find everything okay?" She said before looking up.
"Oh I know y'all, wassup." Deana said.
"Yea hi." I replied.
"HI!" Kiari yelled.
"Inside voice angel." I reminded them quietly. They nodded and went around me to put our various items in the bags.

"I like y'all fits. The matching is mad cute."
"Tank you! I picked mine out by myself! Right mama? Tell her!!"
"They did indeed pick it out on their own." I deadpanned.
"You look adorable. Remind me of your name cutie pie."
"Kee-Ar-Ree. K I A R I. and that's Dare-inn, D A R Y N." I couldn't help but laugh, it was pretty cute the way they spelled out our names.

"Your total is 58.37, cash or card?"
"Card."
"How come youn like me?"
"I don't know you Deana."
"Well I'm tryna know the both of y'all."
"Oh okay." I said.
"Mommy you not being nice." Kiari said while sitting in the cart. I have no idea when they got in there.
"You should listen to yo shordy."
"And you should give me my receipt." I snapped. Deana laughed and wrote her number on my receipt. She turned to Kiari.

"Hey doll, hold on to this for your friend ight?
"Mhm! I will!"
"You're so good. Bye y'all." Deana said. Making Kiari giggle. I rolled my eyes.
"Bye." I scoffed.
"BYE BYE DEE!" Kiari said loudly. I pushed the cart out of the store and towards the car.
"Mama we make a frend! I so excited to hang out." Kiari beamed. I couldn't help but smile back. They are just the cutest. We got back in the car and as promised, drove to the park. I parked but didn't get out immediately.

"Kiari my love."
"Yeeeeees?"
"There's just a couple rules I wanna go over before we go play okay?" Kiari nodded and faced me.
"Please please please, don't take any food or drinks from anyone. Please don't run off with any friends you may make. Please no fussing when I say it's time to go. And lastly please have loads of safe fun. Got it?"

"Yes yes yep yes!" Kiari replied. I smiled at them and told them we got to put on sun screen. Everything was fine until I got to their face.
"ITS STINKY!"
"Babydoll quiet voice please and just let me finish really fast." Kiari rolled their eyes and took off their glasses. I gently rubbed the sunscreen on their face and patted it.

"All done sweetheart."
"Park now?"
"Yes cutie pie, park time." I replied. Kiari squealed and ran off. I grabbed my bag and followed behind them. Luckily there weren't a lot of people. I sat down at a bench where I could see Kiari. They truly loved being outside, the sight made my heart smile.

"Mommy!"
"Yes princess come here."
"Take dis." I raised my eyebrow. They sighed before talking again.
"Take dis pease." Kiari handed me the receipt with Deanas number on it. I sighed internally knowing that if I threw it out Kiari would be upset.
"Okay lovebug I'll hold it for you."
"Tank you mama. We call when we get home?"
"Uh sure, go play baby." I said. Kiari poked my cheek and ran off.

Around 7 I called Kiari back to me. Once again, they were not pleased.
"More time please please please!"
"Oh but my little bunny needs dinner don't they?"
"Fine." Kiari grumbled at me. We made sure we had everything and then headed back to the car. I made sure Kiari was settled before driving.

"What do you want to eat?"
"I'm sleepy."
"I hear you but it's dinner time love. You want me to cook?"
"Mhm." Kiari replied closing their eyes. I tried to think what I could possibly cook. I had way too much to carry into Kiaris apartment so I really couldn't carry them.

"Doll we're home please wake up." I said gently shaking them.
"Man what I'm tired." My eyebrows raised.
"Kiari."
"Yes?"
"Come help me carry this stuff in." Kiari gave me puppy eyes.
"Uh uh I know you're not little right now so come help me."
"Fine fine." We talked about dinner as we went up into Kiaris building.

"Keys keys keys?"
"My bag." They took their keys out my bag and opened their apartment door.
"Soooo Daryn tell me something."
"Yea sure."
"Why did you let me leave the house like this?" Kiari asked. I started laughing.
"I didn't wanna burst your bubble, you were so happy to pick out your own clothes."
"I look like Cosmo and Wanda in clothing form." Kiari said facepalming themself.

"So Deana.." I rolled my eyes.
"God no."
"Oh come on she likes us, not just one of us but both of us. Even though I know you don't care about that. You just don't want her hurting little me."
"Yea... that's true. We don't know her like that Ki. That's like a huge step."
"Look. At some point we decided we belonged to each other. We didn't even talk about it, it was just unspoken. But this is more important, think about it for me? Please?"
"You so lucky I like you." I said. Kiari smiled at me and kissed me on the cheek.

"I'm still hungry."
"Tell me what you want and I'll make it."
"I told you in the elevator."
"Oh dip... pasta?"
"Get cooking babe." I got up and washed my hands. Kiari turned around on the couch and watched me move about their kitchen. When I put the water on I noticed how quiet they were.
"Ki you o-" When I got close to the couch I noticed they were knocked out.
"Damn again?" I left Kiari to sleep as I thought about what they said.

Truly Deana hasn't done anything off putting. I was just weary about letting someone in like that. I sighed and looked at the receipt on the fridge. I'm only trying with her because Kiari likes the idea. I trust their judgement. I sent a text saying hey. As soon as I sent it I regretted it. I turned my phone off and finished cooking the pasta for dinner. I put a lid on the pot and laid down on the couch adjacent to Kiari. I closed my eyes and let sleep wash over me.
