The ravenette and the golden haired male cuddled together on the bed as the morning sun rays brightened the room. Both had just woken up with Hyunjin lying on top of the Chan, who in turn had his hands wrapped around the younger's waist, as they started smilingly in each other's eyes.

"You know, instead of knocking at my door in the middle of the night you could permanently shift here." Chan said in a teasing tone.

"Yah you said you wouldn't bring it up!" Hyunjin lifted himself up slightly as he glared down at Chan, furrowing his eyebrows in an adorably angry manner.

"Sorry love but you are just so cute when you are angry." Chan smiled and lifted his head to lightly land a kiss on the tip of Hyunjin's nose.

That action made the younger's heart flutter as a smile peeked it's way through his annoyed expression even though he tried to supress it. Chan playfully poked his mate's dimple and grinned happily. Hyunjin laughed at the older's silly acts. In return he poked Chan's dimples as well and started giggling. He inhaled deeply as he looked at the older, admiring him.

Chan softly chuckled while tucking the loose strand of Hyunjin's long hair that had fallen over the younger's eyes behind his ear, as last night's memories filled his mind

*Flashback to last night.*

They had to begin training for the upcoming war from today, which also included training in wolf forms. To Chan's utter disappointment, Hyunjin had very assertively told him that he would go back to sleep in his own room since they both need to get enough rest before the heavy training. Hyunjin's point was that if they stayed in the same room they wouldn't exactly get much of sleeping and his earlier lovebites also needs to recover before he lets Chan give him new ones. Chan of course unwilling obliged to his mate.

But late at night, as Chan lay on his bed, staring up at the ceiling, terribly missing his mate, soft knocks were heard on the door. He opened it to find Hyunjin looking shyly at him with the cutest blush on his face. Neither of them found it possible to sleep without the other's warm embrace anymore.

Of course Chan hugged Hyunjin tightly at once and they walked towards the bed. But Hyunjin's steps suddenly haulted as he saw a certain potrait hung on the wall above the headboard. It was the one he had painted 9 years ago for Chan but never got the chance to give it to him.

"Your eomma got it from your room back at the Baek palace. She thought of giving it to the recipient it was made for. Of course I had to hang it to proudly show off my mate's first gift to me." Chan said as he kissed Hyunjin's cheek and wrapped his hands around the younger's waist, hugging him from behind.

Hyunjin felt too overwhelmed to speak as he leaned back to rest his head on Chan's chest, loving his embrace. The golden haired male felt oh so grateful to have such a wonderful mate pike his Christopher.
