Cruel Summer

Florence Park been going to Cousins Beach every summer for as long as she can remember. The beach house wasn't her official home, but sometimes, it felt more like it than the one she lived at during the rest of the year. It wasn't the physical house that made it a home for a girl, though; it was the people, her mom, siblings, Susannah and the boys. They were her people. Her home.

Growing up, she and Conrad Fisher, the eldest boy of her mom's best friend Susannah, were best friends. No matter how many months would pass, Florence could count on Conrad no matter what. They could go months without seeing one another, but when the summer came, it was like no time had passed at all.

She thought it'd always be that way until everything changed. One summer, it all just stopped. Well, more like he just stopped. Conrad no longer wanted to hang out with Florence every second of every day. He barely spoke to her and never joked around with her like he used to. Hell, he could barely look at the girl.

It was like he hated her... and she had no idea why.

Florence expects this summer to be just like the last. Full of movie nights with Susannah, mom and Belly, video game tournaments with Jeremiah and Steven, and desperately trying to figure out why Conrad's still being so weird towards her and fixing their friendship.

Things are different now, though, and no matter how badly Florence wishes she could go back to childhood where there were no new feelings, loss and heartbreak, she can't.

For good and bad, everything changes this summer.

Ahhh, I loved the summer I turned pretty show (and Conrad) so much I just had to write a fic based off it. I obviously do not own the original plot or idea, that is all Jenny Han and Amazon Prime, but I do own my OCs Florence, her best friend Isla and Tripp! Hope you enjoy!!
