Avery POV

"You ready to go see daddy, Tay?" I asked as I unbuckled Tatum from her car seat, as she reached for me and scrunched her nose up at me. "Yo, AJ!" I heard Denaun call out as he walked out of the studio, and over to the car.

I quickly looked up and let out a small smile, "hey, pretty girl" Denaun said as he took Tatum from me, tickling her. She let out a smile and flung her arms, before hiding her face in Denaun's shoulder. "I think Marshall's gonna be relieved to see you guys" he said as we walked into the studio, "yeah?" I asked as I furrowed my eyebrows. He nodded, "shits been hectic all day, he needs a break"

I let out a small sigh as I followed behind him, "Mathers, someone's here to see you" Denaun said as we walked into the studio. "Tell them I can't right now, I'm busy" he answered as he continued to mess around with the soundboard. I chewed at my lip. I could hear it in Marshall's tone he was overwhelmed and stress.

Denaun and I made eye contact, "how you gonna tell these two, pretty little things no?" he said in between a laugh. Marshall swiveled his chair to see Tatum and I, as his expressions immediately softened.

"The thing is, I can't" he said as he took Tatum from Denaun's arms. Again, Tatum flung her arms and flailed her legs in excitement, "you excited to see daddy?" he asked her as he continued to love on her. "Hi, honey" he said as he pulled me into him, pressing his lips to my skin. "Hi" I said softly, as I leaned into him more.

"Give me a few minutes okay, I was just about to lay a verse" he said as he handed Tatum to me, as I sat down on the couch. I watched him walk into his element where he simply felt most comfortable, where he was able to release his emotions. Denaun started the music as Marshall started a freestyle, and I couldn't help but be in awe every time. "Yo, cut the music" Marshall said as he signaled to Denaun to stop the music. "What's up dude?" Denaun questioned.

Marshall looked over the piece of paper in front of him, it looked just like a bunch of scribbling and chicken scratch. But he furrowed his eyebrows, "somethings not right" he said as he sighed and walked out of the booth.

"You think you want some studio time today, ma?" Marshall asked as I shook my head and let out a laugh, "no" I said as I chewed at my lip. He furrowed his eyebrows, "why not, everyone loved when you sang last time"

I sighed, "I promised to get into the booth once, and that's what I did" I said as Marshall pursed his lips. "Avery James, please tell me you're here to grace us with another studio session" I heard Ryan say as he walked into the studio. I let out a low chuckle, as I pressed my tongue to my cheek, "I don't think so" I said.

"Why not, I missed the last one" he said as he exaggerated his tone. "She don't want me to be happy" Marshall said as he chimed in. I rolled my eyes, "if I get in the booth will all of you shut up and leave me alone?" I asked.

"Absolutely!"

"Done!"

"I will never leave you alone, we said vows" Marshall said as he pointed to his wedding band as I let out a small sigh. "Get in the booth, Mathers" I said as I tugged his arm, as a sly smile came across his face.

"What do you wanna sing, baby?" he asked. "Love The Way You Lie, Part Two" I said as the music started.

On the first page of our story
The future seemed so bright
Then this thing turned out so evil
I don't know why I'm still surprised
Even angels have their wicked schemes
And you take that to new extremes, but you'll always be my hero
Even though you've lost your mind

Just gonna stand there and watch me burn
But that's alright because I like the way it hurts
Just gonna stand there and hear me cry
But that's alright because I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie, oh
I love the way you lie

I closed my eyes, letting myself get into the song.

Now there's gravel in our voices
Glass is shattered from the fight
In this tug of war, you'll always win
Even when I'm right
'Cause you feed me fables from your hand
With violent words and empty threats
And it's sick that all these battles
Are what keeps me satisfiedy

Just gonna stand there and watch me burn
But that's alright because I like the way it hurts
Just gonna stand there and hear me cry
But that's alright because I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie, oh-oh
I love the way you lie, oh

So maybe I'm a masochist
I try to run, but I don't wanna ever leave
'Til the walls are goin' up
In smoke with all our memories

We were more than halfway through the song, and both Marshall and I were holding nothing back. It was hot and heavy, and the song was gut wrenching for love. There was so much emotion coming out of the booth, and before his verse he pulled me into him, making sure I felt every inch of him.

It's mornin', you wake, a sun ray hits your face
Smeared makeup as we lay in the wake of destruction
Hush baby, speak softly, tell me you're awfully sorry
That you pushed me into the coffee table last night
So I can push you off me

Try and touch me, so I can scream at you not to touch me. Run out the room, and I'll follow you like a lost puppy
Baby, without you, I'm nothing, I'm so lost, hug me
Then tell me how ugly I am, but that you'll always love me

Then after that, shove me, in the aftermath of the
Destructive path that we're on, two psychopaths but we, know that no matter how many knives we put in each other's backs that we'll have each other's backs, 'cause we're that lucky

Together we move mountains, let's not make mountains out of molehills

You hit me twice, yeah, but who's countin'
I may have hit you three times, I'm startin' to lose count. But together, we'll live forever, we found the youth fountain

Our love is crazy, we're nuts, but I refuse counsellin'
This house is too huge, if you move out I'll burn all two thousand square feet of it to the ground, ain't shit you can do about it

Cause with you, I'm in my f- mind, without you, I'm out

Just gonna stand there and watch me burn
But that's all right because I like the way it hurts
Just gonna stand there and hear me cry
But that's all right because I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie

Marshall kissed me softly as the music trailed off, "there's just something about, when you get in the booth" he said barely above a whisper as the guys started clapping and hollering.

I rolled my eyes, "is all that necessary?" I asked as I let out a small laugh. "Avery, why you holding out on us like that?" I heard Dre ask, over facetime.

I raised an eyebrow, "did y'all seriously facetime Dre?" I asked as I took Tatum from Denaun. "Yes, yes we did" Ryan said as he pursed his lips.

"I'm trying to get her to come to the studio, more than she does" Marshall said as I rolled my eyes. "Why, so you can coarse me into the booth?" I asked, as he chewed at his lip playfully.
