The candle was out. You dimly watched it through two slits. Eyes almost closed.

Reality didn't seem to exist in that moment. You had fallen in some sort of weird trance. Also known as falling asleep with your eyes open.

USSR leaned his head on top of yours, also dazed.

You were practically hugging each other, but you didn't mind. The bitter taste of shock still lamed your thoughts.

You just wanted someone close to you for now.

"Uhm... I hate to interrupt you but we're starting to get kind of hungry."

Jumping, you turned to your side seeing New Spain and Skáney looking down at you with disapproval in their eyes.

Just great. You can't get a break for just two minutes around here.

USSR replied with a cold stare and got up, walking past them as if they didn't exist.

He was annoyed as well. He had finally gotten some alone time with you and now someone was already nagging to have you back.

Skáney watched him leave, his eye an angry slit and his one fist clenched until it shook.

How dare someone touch you other than he himself.

Meanwhile New Spain gave you the dirty eye and left you on the floor.

"Come on Skáney." She said. "Tell me more about the fjǫrðr."

"Stórr fell klash með Vatn..." His face lit up again after talking to New Spain.

You couldn't help but feel a sting of jealousy. Normally he'd only talk to you and you alone.

You looked at the letter. Now that you were alone, you felt how an emptiness filled your chest that made your trachea tie itself together.
