Third P.O.V

"Meet your new tennis partner, Jayden."

The couch introduced a shy looking boy to (Y/N).

"Nice to meet you!"

Jayden blushed as (Y/N) eagerly shook his hand.

"I've been waiting for a new partner."

(Y/N) was the best tennis player in the whole school. The two-player tournament was coming up, but (Y/N)'s partner was injured, so Jayden took his place.

"Let's play a match!"

(Y/N) suggested. They were surprised that they had never even heard of Jayden, so testing his skills is a must.

After about an hour, (Y/N) decided to let loose.

"Your posture is wrong, your swing is sloppy, and you stamina also needs work."

(Y/N) said sternly. Jayden deflates.

"Sorry."

He mumbles. (Y/N)'s expression softens as they swing an arm around Jayden's shoulder.

"Don't worry, even if you absolutely suck, I could carry our team."

(Y/N) says in a joking tone. Jayden lets out a blinding smile.

"I won't let you down."

He says with a determined expression. (Y/N) puts their hands in front of their eyes.

"Ugh, so blinding!"

Jayden and (Y/N) trained everyday after school together, and soon the day before the tournament came.

"Hey, (Y/N)?"

Jayden said as they sat down for a break.

"Yeah?"

(Y/N) answered.

"Is it true that some basketball player wants to date you?"

"Yeah."

"Are you going to?"

(Y/N) lets out a loud laugh, then continues laughing for a few minutes.

"Ha! I'd never date a player like him! Thinks he's a star or something! Yuck!"

Jayden sighs in relief. (Y/N) jumps up.

"Back to training! We can't slack off just because tomorrow is the big day!"

Jayden was on his way to the tournament when he came across someone holding some roses.

Isn't that the guy who wants to date (Y/N)?

Jayden narrows his eyes.

Looks like I might be a bit late.

"Where is he?"

(Y/N) mutters. Their match was almost up and Jayden still hasn't arrived.

"(Y/N)!"

Jayden was running towards (Y/N) with some flowers in his hands.

"Where have you been?"

(Y/N) asked.

"Sorry I-"

Jayden started, but (Y/N) grabbed him by the collar and dragged him away.

"Wait! I have something to tell you!"

Jayden tried to get out of (Y/N)'s grip.

"Tell ya what, if we win, I'll take you on a date later."

(Y/N) said without looking at Jayden.

"H-How?"

Jayden gasped. (Y/N) just rolled their eyes.

"It was soooo obvious."

"So you're going to date me?"

Jayden asks hopefully.

"Only if we win."

(Y/N) grinned.

"Let's go win a tournament!"
