Some Bonds Can't Be Broken

Three days later, Aurora looked at her reflection in the mirror. She was w wearing a baby pink dress with sparkles at the skirt. She had chosen this style to be her attire when she would publicly present herself as Princess (with the exception of events like the gala and the midnight festival) , but she had made that choice at the age of 7, almost 8 years ago! The pixies finished braiding her hair and placed her tiara on her head. This would be the last time she would wear it, the tiara that had been made for her on the day she was consagrated to the Great King. It was silver and had pink crystals that matched the dress.

"Thank you, girls." She said as the pixies flew away.

Aurora exited the room and almost stumbled as she went to the throne room, where her coronation would take. She mumbled something about Sam and his stubborness of making her wear heels.

"How do women walk in these?" She asked herself several times.

She finally arrived at the doors and she remembered how once she had been anxious about meeting her parents on the other side. She once more looked at the doors with anxiety, but this time her parents weren't on the other side. The guards nodded at her and opened the double doors.

"Wish you all the best, Princess." One of the guard said with a smile.

Aurora smiled back and bowed in respect to the guard. He was one of the oldest members of the royal guard and had watched her grow up in the palace. She then looked forward and went to the throne where Ruby, the council and Orion waited for her.  Aurora got on one knee before Ruby and Orion.

"Princess Aurora of Sun, do you vow to protect, love and fight for your nation?" Ruby questioned her.

"I do."

"Do you agree to maintain peace with Moon and to keep the barrier up?"

"I do."

"King Orion, you may proceed."

Orion drew out his sword and Aurora got up. He tossed her a sword and they began to circle each other.

"Let this be a fair fight, Princess."

"Ah, yes! Very fair, a former assassin against a prince, sorry, you're king now, right?"

Orion bit his tongue so he wouldn't laugh, tradition required him to be serious for this part of the coronation. The duel they were about to have would determine who would be the superior Power monarch. And like Aurora had said so herself the winner was obvious.

"Shall we begin, darling?"

Aurora smiled mischievously and proceeded to charge at him with the sword in her hand. Orion defended the attack with  his blade. The same happened 4 time straight, until Orion swung his blade at her. Aurora ducked and in a few seconds had him in a chokehold. Orion tapped her arm, signalling that he was almost out of breath.

"This wasn't part of our plan." He whispered.

"Well, neither was you swinging your blade at me, why did you do it?"

Orion managed to free himself from the chokehold and their blade collided. A golden glow radiated as both blades broke into a thousand pieces. The two held hands as they presented themselves to Ruby. Everyone watched in surprise, the two were confirming everyone's suspicion:  they were in love.

"We have chosen to in future rule Power as equals and..." Said Aurora.

"Go on, say it."

"Unite our nations through love."

Ruby gave them a smile of approval and brought out the Scarlet Power tiara.

"Then I hereby crown you Queen Aurora of Sun. May the King guide and bless you throughout your reign and may it be a long one." Said Ruby as she removed the princess tiara and replaced it with the Scarlet Power tiara.

Aurora then turned to the witnesses and smiled. She suddenly felt a strange feeling spread through her body,  she looked down and saw her pink dress turn a bright red with Sun's symbol embroidered at the hem of the skirt.

"They gave orders for this dress to be made for your coronation. Wanted to surprise you even in their absence."

"Don't make me cry, Ruby. Ocean worked way too hard on this eyeliner for it to be ruined."

The party had been over for a while now, but Orion kept Aurora company at palace with the other warriors. He went to balcony to get some air when everyone was distracted. Resisting Ava's order to kill Aurora during the duel had taken a lot energy from him. It didn't take long for him to notice Aurora was next him.

"What was that about? During the duel."

"I got carried away."

"Orion, Blue and Spring lie better than you." She replied.

Orion remained silent for a few seconds

"Look at me."

With out thinking twice Orion looked at Aurora only to have her blow some sort of dust into his eyes. He rubbed his eyes .

"Aaaah! What did you that for?"

"How does your mind feel."

Orion then noticed Ava wasn't in his head anymore, Aurora had set him free.

"Better...thank you. H-how did you know?"

"I pay attention to your eye colour and Venom was released a few days ago... something felt off."

"I'm sorry." Orion apologized.

"It's alright, we can fix it. But I need to know who did this to you!" Said Aurora

"She her name was Ava." He said

Aurora face radiated pure rage at the sound of that name. She never thought she'd ever hear it again.

"You know her, I can't  tell if that's good or bad." Said Orion

"It's bad...but let's leave it for some other time. I'm queen now!" Said Aurora with a smile.

Orion felt his heart warm up the sight of her happy. It was a relief to be able to enjoy this without Ava giving him orders.

"Oh yes! Your Majesty, I must say red is your color."

"Stop it! " Aurora replied with a laugh.

"I wonder if becoming queen has made you immune to the tickles."

"Orion, no! That's my weakness!"

"Too late!"

Orion chased her from the balcony to the gardens as they both laughed like 6 year olds. She teleported out of his grasp everytime he caught her. They eventually both fell on the grass in exhaustion.

"I missed this." Said Aurora.

"What?"

"Laughing."

Orion looked at the her and then at the night sky, he had a new goal now; making sure she was happy. It was the least he could do for her after she saved him and it would be his way of showing her how much he loved her.

"I missed it too." He replied.
