It has to be a giftAnd there has to be
A reason to give it
Because without an occasion
It might be perceived
As wanton spending
And I cant keep up
With your ever-growing needs
So here is this and this is why
Without these restictions
It might seem I'm just nice
Just recently I've decided to start up on bike riding, nothing too serious, and my dad, with whom I do not live and see only occasionally (though he lives rather close) said he'd get me one. He was, at some point, an avid biker, so he knows bikes. Anyways, he going to take me to get one soon. The thing is, he made an offhanded statement: "we can just say this'll be your early graduation present" ... and its just kinda bothering me. Like, why does there have to be a reason he's spending money on me, why cant it just be 'just because' (its not like i ask him for every little thing... i barely ever ask for anything really, i didnt even ask for the bike, i planned on asking mom) . I get we're not the richest, and if he spends so much on the bike, then id understand if my grad present wasnt huge. And Im not saying i expect him to get me anything for grad but ... idk it just tickled me the wrong way. Like there didnt have to be a reason he was offering to get me a bike. Ya know? I'm explaining myself poorly but whatever.
