You look just like him

At first I couldn't believe my eyes

The resemblance brought back memories

Like all the lies and unsaid goodbyes

I felt a pain that day

When I saw you with your coffee and book

At my favorite café

He brought me to this place I thought

On our very first date

And today is the anniversary

A day I've now come to hate

You suddenly look up

And I quickly blind you from sight

"Oh please, I hope he's not looking!"

It's now my turn to order

I grab a small bite

I take a glance in the sun rays' direction

That soft brown hair and those baby blue eyes

That cute concentrated stare

Tall stature and nice posture

You looked like perfection

Again you look up

And again I turn away

I want to come over there

Oh how I would really like to stay

But I must depart in an hour

This day's been nothing but bad

I've felt pain like no other

Leaving me utterly sad and mad

I look at my watch

"I still have time."

My head turns your way...

My eyes lock with yours...

My heart starts to pound...

But my voice doesn't soar

I only manage a half smile

In which you return with charm

I rapidly look down

Seeing nothing but a blur

I leave for the door

And almost clumsily hit someone on the way out

Feeling a wave of relief

I feel a little better now

A big breathy sigh

And I finally make it to my car

"It's all in the past."

I notice something not off far

There's a note on my windshield

Taking the paper it says

"Call me. -Ezra"

A big smile breaks out

And I suddenly look up

You're right here smiling back

Giving me a big hug

In my heart however crazy it seems

This new guy, I know, is the man of my dreams
