Saying Goodbye

I'm sorry to say

You've won this race

I'm sorry to leave

But I can't keep pace

It's been fun

But I can't continue

It's been fun

Having just me and you

There's a place I need to find

Somewhere deep inside my mind

There's a place I need to go to

 Where no one else but I knows

You've been great

And so have I

But now it's time for me to say goodbye

I miss you so

Your presence and our memories

I missed you so

But now I'm starting out on my own

It does get tough

But that's okay

The hardest part is over

And the real me will stay

Although each day I think of you

One day I won't

And I'll be glad to say

"He was just a happy mistake."

It does get tough

But that is fine

All that's left to do now is
