Chris's POV
"What are you doing tonight, Chris?" Jane asked as she grabs a handful of snow.
I'm hanging out with my friends at the elementary school playground with some of our siblings. The younger kids are playing on the playground while me and my friends are building a snowman.
I grabbed some snow and put some on the snowman. "Well, Brian's taking me out tonight," I said.
"Really?" Rachel said.
"Yeah, he's taking me out to this restaurant in Thief River Falls."
"Wow. Is this your guy's first date?" Emma asked.
"Yeah."
Yesterday after Brian dropped me off at my house after school, he walked me to the door. He stopped as I was about to open it and said he wanted to ask me a question. I was hoping he was going to ask me to prom, but instead he asked me out on a date. It was better than nothing, so I just smiled and said yes to him.
"You are so lucky," Layla said.
"It's not that big of a deal, guys," I said.
"'Not a big deal'? Chris, it is a big deal," Emma said.
"Yeah, man. You're going on a date," Paul said.
"Have you decided what you're going to wear yet?" Danielle asked.
"Well, he said not to dress 'too nice', so probably just a button up shirt and jeans," I said.
"That's it?" Seth asked.
"Yeah. What did you guys expect me to wear? A dress?"
"Why not wear a suit?"
"Because I don't have one. And he said not to dress too nice."
"Wear that bracelet and necklace he got you," Xavier said.
"Ooh, good idea," Layla said.
"Yeah. I'm even wearing it right now." I showed them the necklace and bracelet.
"What time is he picking you up?" Jane asked.
"He said at six."
"Oh no. You have about an hour," Austen said.
"What?!" I looked at the time of my phone to see that he's right. "Oh shit!"
"We better get you home," Jane said. "Let's get the other kids. Now."

"What do you think?" I asked when I walked into the living room to show my friends. This is about the fifth frickin time I changed shirts and now I'm wearing a red button up shirt.
Rachel checks me over. "Perfect," she said. "Red looks good on you."
"It does?"
"Nah, I prefer blue on him," Emma said.
"Oh, no, no, no. Red definitely looks better," Rachel said.
"I agree with Rachel," Danielle said.
"Black looks better," Xavier said.
"He looks better either way, guys," Seth said.
"You guys should be more like Seth," I said, crossing my arms.
