TENOCHTITLAN

Fire raged through the city, just like the anger of the people that ran through the streets. Violence and war covered the humans, their weapons clashing against each other. A child stood in the middle of it all, observing what his home had become, and what the eternals had failed to protect.

A pillar was falling, the child in the line of the fall. Makkari rushed him out of the crossfire, glancing around at the city before she had blipped off once more.

The terrain beside of Thena and Sol, who had been quietly murmuring to one another, shook as Makkari ran to them.

Arriving with the thinkers after the three of them had fended off deviants. Now they were to leave the humans, without helping them.

Sol knew that deep down no one wanted to leave the humans whilst they were so deep in a war, but their orders were not to be disobeyed.

"Where are the others?" Ajak spoke and signed to the three women who had just arrived.

"We had to split up" Makkari signed, a bit annoyed.

"There were more deviants than you said" Thena raised her eyebrows at Phastos.

"Well I'm sure that was a lot of fun for you" Phastos shot back and rolled his eyes subtly.

"It was" Thena smiled.

Phastos pulled out a device, and to Sol's knowledge it was a tracker. A small blue dot beaming "once the others kill these last deviants. We will have eliminated them all from the planet"

They all knew that they should be happy, to go back to Olympia, to explore more beyond this world. But a sullen mood hovered over them. They had grown attached to the people of earth.

Gunshots exploded as some humans shot at others with guns. Phastos had thought it would help them hunt animals, not each other.

Sol clenched her eyes shut, hoping it would help her shut out the screams of the hunted.

Druig's hand had slipped into hers. Makkari seeing this and doing the same, helping their partner cope, knowing how much she had grown to care for the humans. Sersi as well.

Druig's hands slipped out of Sol's and she opened her eyes, seeing Druig step forward, his eyes glowing gold and energy humming around him.

"Don't" Ajak ordered, coming up beside him, making his eyes return to normal "we don't interfere in their wars"

"This isn't war. It's genocide" his voice cracked as he looked out upon the people, a helpless feeling bubbling in his chest. "Their weapons have become too deadly" Druig spun on his heels "Maybe it wasn't such a good idea helping them advance, Phastos" he snapped.
