Bucky and the girls walked up to the apartment to find Madeleine waiting.

"Mama!" Evelyn and Rebecca cried as they started running up to her.

Bucky pulled them back and said, "Wait a moment."

Madeleine looked between the girls and a small smile formed. "How are they still so young?"

"The ice. Somehow they survived and the ice stopped them from aging like it did me and Steve."

Madeleine focused on Evelyn. "You've survived so much." She glanced at Rebecca. "So have you."

Evelyn frowned. "Papa, what does she mean?"

"The car."

Bucky nodded. "Before you were born, your mom was in a car accident. You're lucky to have survived, Evie."

Evelyn smiled. "I'm a survivor. And so is Papa and Becca and now you, Mama. Are you gonna hurt me and Becca or Papa and Uncle Steve or Becca's and my Pancake Buddy?"

Madeleine frowned. "Pancake Buddy?"

Bucky chuckled softly. "That's what they call Sam. He was the one with wings."

"Oh. No, I won't hurt you all. Perhaps you can help me remember things."

Rebecca nodded excitedly. "Yeah we can!"

Evelyn smiled. "Mama needs a notebook. Like Uncle Steve has."

"But bigger. And lots of notebooks!"

"Yeah." She looked up at her father. "We need to get Mama notebooks."

Bucky nodded. "That sounds like a great idea."

Madeleine thought for a moment and smiled slightly. "Yes. Notebooks to help sort the memories sounds splendid. And maybe perhaps we can grow our family."

"I'd like that, doll."

Together, the four walked away. Bucky and Madeleine held hands and the girls walked in front of their parents, periodically glancing back at their mother with a wide smile.
