Reader's POV
I almost felt like I had been running through the jungle at top sped as I was shown around the home of the Madrigals, which they affectionately call their "Casita". At first I didn't believe them when they said that the house itself was magical, but after I was offered a cup of coffee by what seemed to be living tiles I simply accepted that this magical family did indeed live in a magical house. Already I could tell that it was so much bigger on the inside than I thought! So far I had been given a tour of only the first floor, and by this point I felt like my jaw would not stop dropping! Bruno, who was showing me around along with Mirabel, pointed out every part of the house with a sense of pride that I had never really seen before.
"Is this part of what it's like to have a family?" I thought to myself as the four of us started to climb up some stairs to the second floor. But as I climbed, my eyes were drawn to a painting of a man. His facial features somewhat resembled Bruno, and he seemed to have a look of kindness about him that, at least from what I had seen, also mirrored the poncho wearer.

Mirabel noticed that I had stopped in front of the portrait and made her way back down the staircase before standing beside me.

"That's my Abuelo Pedro. His picture is one of my favorites in the entire Casita."

My eyes flicked towards Bruno, who was still at the top of the stairs,

"Your Abuelo? Well, that would explain why he looks so much like your Tio." I said with a slight giggle.

Bruno's POV
I joined Mirabel and (y/n) by my papa's portrait before I added onto Mirabel's description,

"He was killed by invaders when my sisters and I were babies. Mom used to tell us that it was thanks to him that the Encanto appeared and the surrounding mountains rose higher and higher to protect any of us from suffering the same fate. If he hadn't sacrificed himself, then our entire family may not have been given a chance at life just as ours had begun." I said as my eyes began to slightly water while I looked at the rendering of the father I never got to properly meet. Just then, a gentle hand landed on my arm. I looked up to see that (y/n) was looking at me with a small smile on her face.

"He sounds like an amazing person. I bet that making such sacrifices for those you love takes no small amount of courage."

I chuckled as I shook my head and answered,
"You have no idea."

Reader's POV
I was about to ask Bruno what he meant by that, but before I could open my mouth Mirabel had grabbed me by the hand and started to half pull and half drag me up the stairs to the second floor before stopping in front of a green door.

"This is my room! Well, it's also the nursery, but now that the rest of the family has their own individual rooms this one has been all mine!" She said as the Casita opened the door for the two of us, as well as Bruno who had managed to catch up.

I peered into the room and saw that the green theme carried from the door to the walls. Two beds were placed on either side of the room, and the left side appeared to be Mirabel's, as it looked a lot more lived-in. The right was almost bare, save for a dresser and sheets on the bed.

"We thought that you may like it if you had a roomie while you stay with us. And since this is currently the only free bed, I thought you could bunk with me!" I nodded in understanding before turning to the unoccupied part of the room.

I was close to tears as I scanned the part of the room that was now mine. Then I noticed a small plushie of a Jaguar that was situated on the bed. I silently walked over and picked it up. It looked like it had been made with love, as every stitch appeared to have been made with the upmost care.

"Oh, that belongs to my cousin Antonio. But he thought you may like to borrow it! I had actually made it for him "for the nerves" in case he needed a friend in his new room, so maybe he had that in mind for you."

I fondly looked at the soft plush with a warm smile before I realized that the glasses-wearing girl in front of me actually made this adorable stuffed animal.

"Maravilloso Mirabel, you are quite talented! I assume you also made your dress as well?"

"Of course! I actually made you one too! I figured that since the clothes you were brought here in were a bit tattered, and I assume you wouldn't want to walk around the village in a nightdress, then maybe you could use a dress of your very own! So TADA!" She giggled as she pulled a lovely dress out of one of her dresser drawers.

(The pic is not mine. All rights go to their respective owners. Just an FYI, I was going for a look that would reflect on the way the movies characters dressed while not resembling the look of a specific character at the same time. Plus this dress happens to match Bruno's theme of green colors. So I went with this one.)

I marveled at the embroidery that adorned the garment while stammering an almost incessant amount of thanks

I marveled at the embroidery that adorned the garment while stammering an almost incessant amount of thanks.
"No problem!" Mirabel answered. "Now go and try it on!" She squealed as she pushed me in the direction of a place where I could change.

Bruno's POV
As Mirabel showed (y/n) the new dress she had made for her, I stood in the doorway contentedly.
"I feel like we made the right choice in offering (y/n) a home, Papa Pedro. I know that I've only just met her, but there's a feeling in my gut that she will not harm us. And it's in no small part thanks to you. You led me to her, so muchas gracias Papa."

Just then, I glimpsed a familiar pair of small golden wings from the window.
