3rd Person POV

Bruno was about to give up on receiving any shred of hope that his father could help him, and was turning to begin his journey back to the Casita. But just as he raised his head, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a golden butterfly. The small glittering animal seemed to be trying to beckon him deeper into the undergrowth of the landscape, away from the relative safety of the Encanto, and for a second he felt some of the creature's brethren in his stomach. This was the moment he had been waiting for, the sign that he needed. He gulped audibly before allowing himself to be guided by the butterfly as it bobbed and weaved around many trees and ferns. All of a sudden, the winged entity started to pick up speed, and Bruno was forced to do the same in order to keep up with it.

"WAIT, HOLD ON A SECOND! I KNOW YOU'RE TRYING TO HELP ME, BUT THESE SANDALS ARE NOT THE EASIEST THING TO RUN IN!" He yelled. Just then, the golden butterfly abruptly stopped its flight and perched on a small flower that grew right beside a massive wax palm tree. Bruno took this opportunity to catch his breath before surveying his surroundings. He couldn't recognize this part of the rainforest at all. A small clearing sat in the middle of the otherwise heavily forested terrain. The surrounding foliage was dense, and if it wasn't already night Bruno was sure no light would be able to pass through it. After taking in the landscape, his thoughts again turned towards the butterfly. But when he turned back to the spot where he last saw it, it had vanished. The Madrigal was understandably confused as he thought to himself,

"Ok, that was sort of anticlimactic. I wonder if the same thing happened to Mirabel when she saw the butterflies."

Just then, a huge disturbance could be heard. It sounded like something, or perhaps someone, was coming. Fearing the worst, Bruno hid behind some of the biggest ferns and hoped that whatever it was was not there to do him any harm. But what would then appear out of the brush made his heart stop.

It was a human. Her (h/c) hair flew wildly around her form as she frantically looked around her. And from what Bruno could see, she was badly injured. As she turned towards him, however, his breath caught in his throat. Staring in his general direction were two beautiful, piercing (e/c) eyes.

"(E/c)!" Bruno inwardly screamed, "Just like the form in my vision!" He was about to make his presence known to the female, but was not able to before the ear-splitting sounds of two gunshots were heard. One shot missed, but the other struck the woman in her previously uninjured leg. She screamed as she fell to the ground in pain. Before Bruno could even react, three other figures burst into the clearing. The leader victoriously cheered,

"Finally! I told you boys that all those years of tracking and searching would pay off eventually!"

The other two wasted no time in tackling the woman, ensuring that she wouldn't be able to even try to escape. "We've got you now, pequeno premio!" One of them sneered.

"LET ME GO! PLEASE!" The female pleaded as her eyes watered and she thrashed in their strong grip.

Bruno had absolutely no idea what was happening, but he couldn't just stand by and let them get away with this. He saw some decently sized rocks and a thick-looking stick nearby and suddenly got an idea.

"Let's hurry up and get out of this place!" The leader said, ignoring the woman's screams, "I saw a village nearby and I don't want any-"

*THUNK*

All of a sudden, the leader was hit from behind by the poncho-wearing man. He fell to the ground in a heap and before the other two even could process that their boss was knocked out, they were incapacitated in the same manner. After dragging the two men off of the female, Bruno noticed that the she had fallen unconscious at some point. He checked her pulse and upon finding one knew that she needed to get to his sister Julieta before her injures and wounds became all the more worse.

Only after putting her on his back did it dawn on him that he didn't even know the way back to the village from this part of the rainforest. Just then, the familiar shape of a butterfly flew in front of his face. He murmured a quiet "Thank You, Papa." Before following the insect back the way he came.
