(Six weeks after they left the Raft and then S.H.I.E.L.D. they've both been busy going to doctors appointments, negotiations, the occasional Tony get together
They don't get much time to themselves but today is a huge milestone
Nat- (Is scribbling in her journal about her current symptoms and measuring her growing bump) Ok, so we're 25 weeks and counting. As for your dad he's... Cautious about everything you and I are doing
Bruce is in the garage battling a box tring to assemble a changing table. His moteo is "Be prepared for everything".
Bruce- Coome onnn give me the screw you dumb box. No you know what I'll just ask Tony for a spare (Bruce gets up and walks to the garage phone. Dialing up Tony)
[Tony- Hey Bruce, what up]
Bruce- I need an extra Phillips head screw, Do you have one?
[Tony- Hang on let me check. Also what are you building?]
Bruce- Oh you know the same old same old (Nat walks into the garage)
Nat- Bruce what are you doing and why are you on the phone?
Bruce- I'm building something and I want you to have a surprise. But I need a screw, and Tony has one. Right Tony
[Tony- Yes, do you want to come pick it up or me to bring it over]
Bruce- Great he has one. I'll come pick it up just give me the address and give me 30 minutes
[Tony- Alright but I think Pepper might want you to come through the garage you know in and out]
Bruce- Sure thing it's her home her rules
[Tony- Hey I built the house]
Bruce- No you built the building she made it a home
[Tony- Fair enough but I bought the stuff and then moved the furniture so I did something]
Bruce- Bye Tony
[Tony- Bye]
Bruce- Hey
Nat- Hi, so Tony's the plan
Bruce- Yah, But before I go how's the little jelly bean
Nat- She's fine and now that I'm no longer that early into my pregnancy. Meaning you can stop calling her that.
Bruce- Never, to me she will always be as small as the first moment of her known existence. On another note do you want to come with me to get the piece?
Nat- No I'm going to stay home today and get a much needed break from everything especially since you've brought that nickname back. I just need a break, from the bruceness and people for a while
Bruce- But didn't you say chicks dig the dork and don't you want our little jelly bean to have female contact with someone other than you and the occasional Wanda moment
Nat- Bruce stop using my own words against me. I need a break from all these human interactions from earlier plus the ones that have followed us
Bruce- So you want to stay home
Nat- Yes, you know what. What if I go to your friends place
Bruce- I thought you and pepper were friends or at the very least friendly
Nat- We are it's just right now I need someone in particular to talk to. But I promise that when I finish up I'll come straight to Tony's and spend the rest of the day with pepper
Bruce- I'm not going to win this one am I?
Nat- Exactly, so do we have a deal
Bruce- Yes but I want to at least drive you there. By the way what are you and going to do
Nat- Ok, and I'm going to your best friend place to ask about baby stuff and advice
(The two get packed up and head out on their trip back to maine land. They eventually make the trip to Alex's apartment. Natasha is dropped off from there Bruce goes off to Tony's cabin.)
Bruce- Hey, Tony are you here?
[Tony- Yah I'm in here just give me a minute to get out]
Bruce- So no garage workshop
[Tony- Nope I have an office upstairs this time. Plus I only do Stark industries projects now, so no s.h.i.e.l.d investments]
Bruce- Right retirement
[Tony- You could say that but I prefer to call it a vacation]
Bruce- A very long one
[Tony- So what brings you here because you know we could have gotten together inside the house instead of catching up in a garage]
Bruce- I just thought since we hadn't seen each other in such a long time that we use this little errand to talk
[Tony- I mean sure but first your asking to borrow my screw then we chat. No loose ends]
Bruce- you sound like a super villain who's about to kill me
[Tony- Ouch but I just don't want the girls to walk in and ask us if we're getting stuff done or just standing around]
Bruce- You know that Nat didn't come with me
[Tony- Ohh trouble in paradise again]
Bruce- No it's different this time. Plus it's just a screw then I'll be on my way and we have a baby now so different
[Tony- Ok, the screws are in my tool drawer and I just thought we were talking]
Bruce- Thanks for the screw and you know that's a difficult subject to just bring up
[Tony- To soon even though it's been a year since everything took place. If you want to talk about something else while you're here we could go inside. It's way too hot out here to actually have a good long talk]
Bruce- Ok sure
(The two men walk inside the house and into the laundry room through the dinner and kitchen and finally into the living room. Were they both sit down on the sofa)
