Ink's POV

I can hear my dad's footsteps started to get near towards me
"*chuckles* My my...what do we have here~
A grown up boy who finally reached his precious dream to become a detective~ How...
PATHETIC!" He yelled which made me flinched and still looking down on the floor
"J-just...t-thank y-you for a-accepting m-me" I stuttered
Damn...my fear got the best of me
He then suddenly slapped me across the face
I deserve it..I guess?
And grabbed my chin to make me look up at him
We stared at each other for a while until...

"Look at me when you talk to me! And...
Pfft- you being a pathetic detective?? You're not even ready yet or always by the look on your pathetic face!" He yelled as he harshly let go of me
"What's even the reason,detective of all jobs???" He asked,annoyed
"W-well...I like to work alone and privately...and to avenge my family one day...and to bring my best friend back.." I muttered,looking straight at him
"Tsk,here sign these pathetic papers!" He yelled as he threw the contracts infront of me and the pen also
I quickly grabbed them and started signing them one by one
He also threw my detective suit infront of me
I really hate his attitude
"Still...thank you.." I muttered
"Ugh! Will you stop saying that! You're losing my patience on you!" He yelled
When I was now done,collected the papers and hold them for a while
I then stood up and suddenly glared at him

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME! I TRIED TO BE NICE ALWAYS AND-" I blurted out as he suddenly slapped me again but harder this time which made me tear up and leave a red mark on my cheek
"Aah...acting so brave now eh?
Act brave on this!" He yelled as he kicked my chest which made me yelp and fell down on the floor,still holding the papers tight
I started to tear up and slowly stood up
Ow ow ow...it hurts...ow...
My old wounds are still there...ow....
I shouldn't have done that...damn..
I lose respect...maybe I drank too much of the red vial..?
I then started crying cuz I couldn't hold the pain any longer
"Tsk,pathetic weakling" he bluntly said as he approach me again
He was about gonna do something to me again until a knock to be heard on the door
"*sigh* Punishment at home" He threatened
Not again..
"Come in" he added
The door was being opened by manager Blue as he entered the room while holding a folder
"Greetings sir! I ha- OH MY STARS INK?? Are you okay?? Why are you crying???" Blue asked worriedly
I could sense my foster dad's madness at me

I was still tearing up but just smiled for Blue and giving him a 'I'm Fine' look
"Don't worry Manager Blue
He's fine....always fine
He was just happy because his precious dream went true" Boss half-lied as he patted my head which made me flinched a bit
I quickly wiped my tears with my scarf
"Really? Wow! Congratulations Ink!
I wish you luck!" Blue exclaimed
"Hehe..thanks Blue" I thanked him as he gave me a 'you're welcome' look
"Ahem...what was your news?" Boss asked Blue
"O-Oh uh...the cops reported to us that there are two different group of criminals
We called them the Culprits A and Culprits B
Those separated group of culprits are planning something new again, more like something bad!
What are we gonna do!" Blue exclaimed, half panicked
"Do u finally knew where they are located?" Boss asked

"Well...according to the reports I received
After finding out thier secret hideouts...the culprits killed some of our crew...or the cops I say
Only one of them survived the ambush and that's how I received the news
They are located on the southeast City near the abandoned house
But..they haven't figure out where the Culprits B located since they changed their place or secret base" Blue explained
"Damn...we're losing cops..." Boss grumbled
I gulped of how am I gonna do my job of being a detective too..

After doing our duty...
Dad drove us home
Sigh...here we go again..
As we entered the home together...he suddenly grabbed me by my scarf then raised me up harshly,he made me face at him
He slowly locked the doors with his free hand while maintaining eye contact with me
I looked at him with pleading eyes but it always won't work
"Now...like what I told u before and all..over and over again..
Time for your punishment boy~" he cooed as he threw me through the room as I fell on the ground with a loud thud
I felt a lot of pain again as I cracked my own skull
"That's for being so kind and famous in my company!" He yelled then suddenly kicked my chest hard as I hit the wall behind me
I coughed blood as he pulled my hand harshly
"P-please...s-stop.." I whimpered while avoiding eye contact with him
Everything hurts now

"What makes you to defy me?
Also...this is for talking to your friends about how you gonna replace me of being the boss!" He yelled as he pulled up my sleeve to see a lot of old slices from him
"N-no p-please!" I pleaded but he suddenly made a cut on my wrist with his sharp claw
I screamed in agony as he made another one again
What did I do...to deserve this..
Yes,I'm still thankful that I have someone who took care of me while my real parents are gone
I'm so hopeless...but I will never give up
"Tsk,I hope u learned your lesson now" he bluntly said then stood up and started walking away
I sighed and looked at my wrist to see the new cut started to bleed a lot...
I wished he never found out that I'm soulless cuz...

"Heh...since you are a soulless bitch
You are my toy from now on"

Hmm..I also wanna know why he chose me..for him to take care..
I know it's not the reason I'm rich but..I guess he wanted something else from me,but what?
I wish I could fight back but...fighting back in the older than me...is bad and no respect
I slowly stood up and went to my room while limping leaving a trail of blood from behind
I'm gonna clean it later,I guess

When I finally entered my room and closed the door
I saw someone unexpected sitting on my bed
