Quackity being the mastermind since the start of the SMP, blackmailing Dream to do what he did and if he didn't he'd hurt George and some others that Dream held dearly to his heart but realized they can fend for themselves and fought against Quackity only for Patches to be threatened and almost murdered in the process.

Later,the SMP members decided to finally gave Dream his well needed trial and using some of Dream's things to be in court, that includes his communicator.
