"Nicky," Artemis calls out from his study.
"Yes?" I call back, stopping midway down the stairs.
"Come here a second," he answers, and I retreat up the stairs.
I enter his study.
"I've decided I can trust you, well if truth be told, not that I can trust you, that I should trust you, for mother's sake," Artemis says.
"ok......" I reply, not exactly sure what to make of it.
Artemis takes a deep breath before talking, "I've discovered a secret race of fairies living underground with technology beyond anything our world has ever seen."
I raise my eyebrows, "Do you really expect me to believe that."
He smiles slightly, "I thought you would say that, which is why-"
Suddenly a girl, no, a woman, appears. She's 100 centimetres tall with pointy ears and wearing a green tracksuit and what seems to be electronic wings.
"fascinating," I mutter, and I meant it; it seems Artemis was telling the truth.
At some point, the woman, or creature, whatever I'm meant to call her gets anoyed at me staring at her.
"do you mind? Just because I'm not human doesnt mean I'm not a person," she snaps.
