Ye Zun's father and mother were remarried. According to the rumours spreading around, his mother was a mistress, a whore in the most derogatory way.

His mother was his father's first love, but because of the inheritance of the family business, his father had to marry a more well-known Omega for commercial marriage and gave birth to Shen Wei.

However, after learning about Ye Zun's existence, his father determinedly insisted and divorced Shen Wei's mother, regardless of the family's resistance, ignoring their opposition, and married Ye Zun's mother. However, due to the years of insults and the burdens Ye Zun's mother faced, she was mentally ill.

When Ye Zun was a child, he didn't know about all these complicated things or those twists and turns that happened around him. He only knew that his life with his mother had changed. He has a father and an older brother now.

He liked his older brother very much.

Shen Wei treated him very nice, even much better than how his mother did. He cared for him. And the younger child finally found a playmate who could still be patient enough to play with him, to run with him, to chase and be chased after.

In the new quiet cold house, there was a lot of fun, at that time, almost all of Ye Zun's attention was focused on Shen Wei. This elder brother of his has never rejected or excluded him. He would bring him toys and some fun from the outside world. Although Shen Wei wasn't that much older than Ye Zun, he took care of him in all aspects. Even when Ye Zun made mistakes, Shen Wei would protect him and help him to escape his father's accusations and punishments.

"Xiao Wei, I know you like your younger brother, but you can't spoil him too much.", his father would helplessly say before he let him go when he scolded him, and Shen Wei would just rub his head and tell his father with a gentle smile that it wouldn't happen again.

Ye Zun has always liked to follow Shen Wei around, and this elder brother of his didn't seem to mind all the sorts of troubles he caused. Shen Wei has always showered him with endless tenderness and care.

But his mother was so indifferent to Shen Wei for some reason, and her attitude toward him was extremely cold.

She told Ye Zun to stay away from Shen Wei. and she became hysterical after discovering that he made his way to sleep beside Shen Wei several times because of his fear of the dark.

The father had a fight with his mother regarding this, and about her disliking of Shen Wei.
However, she still couldn't give Shen Wei the attitude, so she would lecture Ye Zun instead.

She talked bad about Shen Wei and described him as a monster, and as Ye Zun refuted her saying, her eyes went red before she wiped her tears, and scolded the latter harshly in hysteria.

That was the first time he saw his mother going so mad. Ye Zun was terrified, all he could do was to run to his elder brother seeking comfort, yet when he ran to Shen Wei's room, he didn't find him. Shen Wei was nowhere to be found.

Ye Zun searched in every corner of every room, but he couldn't find him. His elder brother had disappeared without a trace. Shen Wei disappeared for a few days before he finally showed up.

During his disappearance, Ye Zun's mother watched her son's nervous actions in silence, smiled with satisfaction and comforted him with a strange tone, saying that this was who Shen Wei truly was.
She kept saying that Shen Wei doesn't really care about him, all the warmth he showed to his younger brother was fake.

Ye Zun's mother repeatedly said that Shen Wei is the eldest son. Thus Shen Wei playing with Ye Zun was not out of purity and kindness, it was simply to keep an eye on him so he won't threaten Shen Wei's inheritance rights. He is petting him to raise him as a weakling, so he would not be a competitor to the inheritance throne. Ye Zun didn't believe it at first, but soon after, he started hearing more rumours about that.

Shen Wei's mother was very powerful, so this has almost determined who the heir of the Shen family should be. Ye Zun's mother strived and fought for a lot of shares for her son from her husband, but those shares gradually became less and less as Shen Wei had developed the company. In the end, only less than 10% remained untouched for Ye Zun.

At first, he couldn't care less, until the insulting gossips from the school finally reached his ears.

In the eyes of those noble people, he was considered a bastard. His mother has no family status and was too ordinary to marry his father. The conclusion was that his mother must have been a whore, charmed her way to get the father. The derogatory words and the rumours made Ye Zun impulsive and he started several fierce fights with the spreaders of gossips, trying to find out who started those rumours first, eventually reaching the relatives of Shen Wei's family.

He pondered for a long time, and finally went home to find Shen Wei.

The older brother who has always been gentle, listened to his crying, yelling, and complaints silently with so much care before he looked down and thought for a long time. When he looked at him again, it seemed like he had lost his gentleness, as his expression changed. He walked closer, ruffled and stroked his younger brother's hair, and comforted him saying that he would help him to solve it all.

Indeed, no one dared to say more gossip after that, but the hidden hostility was deeper than ever. It was like if he didn't come forward and tell Shen Wei about it, he would be completely useless.

To some extent, this was true.

Shen Wei helped him to solve too many problems, so many that he almost went to this elder brother subconsciously as soon as he encountered anything, and until he became too dependent on Shen Wei, he discovered that it was all really just like what his mother said, he was being gradually raised by Shen Wei into a good for nothing person.

So he gradually became suspicious of Shen Wei. Yet he still clinging to Shen Wei, but this time he was more conscious.

He didn't know why his mother disliked Shen Wei so much at first, but after his mother chanted in his ear for a long time, the words of inheritance dug deeply in his memory.

Shen Wei has always been savvier in calculations and knows too well how to hide himself. So when he was finally vigilant enough, he secretly divided up most of the shares his father had given him with several years of management. Everything was too late for Ye Zun.

Later, Ye Zun finally understood why his mother was angry, and deciphered the true shares of his father's distribution of company equity.
Ye Zun hated his own mediocrity and dullness, but he still couldn't suppress his love for Shen Wei.

It was too lonesome and cold at home, even if Shen Wei took away most of the equities that his father had given him, he still couldn't help but want to rely on Shen Wei, being close to this person who treated him very well on the surface.

Maybe he really needs Shen Wei's tenderness, or maybe he just insatiably wants to get Shen Wei's attention, regardless of whether his brother's goal was the equities or something else.

Ye Zun wants to become stronger and wants to be able to overpower Shen Wei. He knows too well that his malice shouldn't be directed at Shen Wei, but he still can't restrain this thought, he wants... wants Shen Wei to be also able to cling to him.
