"Horea! Where are you?"

The woman called, visibly exasperated.

"Over here!"

A soft voice replied from some thicker brush.

"Horea? What are you doing?"

"Sister come look!"

"Wow... "

She whispered as her fingers delicately caressed the plant.

"What a beautiful red flower."

........................................................

Anuwe awoke with a dull ache in her heart.

Dawn had barely begun to break.

The sky was painted a faint lilac, streaks of Marigold cascading across its wide expanse.

Anuwe forced herself to rise, feeling slightly guilty knowing the old woman would be sad to find she'd left.

...........................................

Horus had only been flying for but a short time.

Young dawn had just begun to rise when his home slowly came into view.

He landed almost effortlessly, striding towards where he knew his mother would be so early in the morning.

Horus turned another corner in the palace and their sat his mother as he predicted- weaving.

"Horus!"

She called, standing from her work upon noticing him.

"Where have you been all night? You cannot just keep running off to places without telling me!"

"Mother."

Horus sighed.

"I am perfectly fine. I am your son after all."

Isis shook her head, gently grabbing a hold of her son's forearm.

"But-"

"Mother please. Their is something of much greater importance we need to discuss."

Isis raised a brow, surprised her son's tone had changed so serious.

"I know it's not place..."

Horus began, gently taking a hold of his mother's shoulder.

"What is it?"

His mother questioned, quickly picking up on his hesitance.

"Is....is there any possibility that uncle could have children besides Anubis?"

................................................

"Is....is there any possibility that uncle could have children besides Anubis?"

Anubis froze.

'W....What...'

When he finally regained his senses he stepped back away from the doorway, leaning against the wall just outside so he wouldn't be spotted.

Isis seemed paralysed for a moment, her mind recounting the memories of that night.

"Mother?"

Horus shook her a little.

"Mother?"

"I...I do not think so..."

She replied, her voice weary.

"My child why do you ask me this? Why would you have me tear open old wounds?"

Horus took both his mother's shoulders now.

"Mother I would not be asking you this without good reason."

His mother seemed to cradle herself.

"And what would that reason be?"

"I..."

Now Horus hesitated.

"I met someone."

"Who?"

"A girl."

"That's very funny Horus and you think that's good enough a reason to question me about-"

"No mother. Please let me finish."

Isis went quiet.

"Her hair and eyes were....Her hair and eyes were red."

Shock shot through Anubis.
