Ali made a puking gesture through the glasses and it only irritated Neil. Avni laughed softly as he murmured.

Neil: Crazy woman!!

Avni: Oh c'mon. She's just looking out for you!

She added,

Avni: We all are.

He ignored, finally turning back to her as she smiled and those fraction of seconds as if brought back all the feelings. Every time he thought to get over avni, there she was right next to him saying something as sweet or as funny that it made him forget his decision of moving on and just stand there like an idiot.

Neil: When will everyone stop giving me advice?

Avni: When will you stop going out with stupid girls?

He took a deep breath and stepped closer.

NEIL: When will you stop being jealous?

Avni squeezed her temples a bit.

Avni: I'm not jealous.

NEIL: You're totally jealous.

She breathed,

Avni: You're totally crazy!

Neil: You're..

Neil looked away,

Neil: Okay, I'm out!!

Avni smiled and began walking back home. Neil followed.

Neil: How's Rahul?

Rahul was Avni's boyfriend. She glanced at him suspiciously because he never asked her about Rahul before.

Avni: He's fine. Kyun?

He shrugged, slipping both hands in his pockets.

Neil: Bas check kar raha hoon ki line marun ya nahi.

Avni: Zaroori hai?

He nodded,

NEIL: Haan. Worth a shot!!

Avni: Not at all.

She caresses Tommy's head gently while saying.

Avni: Me and Rahul are doing good. Toh tum apna ye flirting power kahin aur use karo.

Neil just smiles and asks her.

Neil: Wese are you free tonight?

Avni: Haan. Kyun?

Neil: I have to make dinner for Ishika..

Avni interrupted.

Avnu: Ishika?

She was confused.

AVNI: I thought you guys broke up.

Neil: Why would you think that?

She reminded,

Avni: Kyunki tum kisi aur ke sath date pe the abhi?

Neil: So?

Gently she shook her head in disbelief as she continued to look at him in a steady gaze.

AVNI: You do know you're crazy right?

NEIL: Do bar bol chuki ho ab tak. I think I'll remember that.

She looked away and he added,

NEIL: Toh main keh raha tha ki.. Ishika is leaving town for a few weeks so I thought uske jaane se pehle ek special romantic evening plan karun..

Avni acknowledged by nodding her head.

Avni: Nice. Very considerate. Very thoughtful.

Neil: Thank you!!

He took a little bit of pride in her compliment and smiled.

Neil: So I was thinking ki main khud dinner banata hoon. But as you know, I'm a pathetic cook.

Avni: Oh yes! Definitely.

Neil glanced at her.

Neil: Shut up! I'm not that bad.

AVNI: Really? Then you should cook.

Neil: No. I can't cook. I'll burn my house down.

AVNI: Koi baat nahi. I'll call the fire department..

He tuts and stops walking, trying to request her.

Neil: Please yaar Avni. I'm your neighbour. I'm trying to do a nice thing here.

AVNI rolled her eyes.

Avni: Fine. What do you want me to do?

He was suddenly happy again.

NEIL: That's the spirit..

He continued,

Neil: Toh main chahta hoon ki you come over, cook and I'll pretend as if I've made dinner.

Avni was listening intently, nodding her head from time to time as he spoke.

Neil: Again, why do I have to come over?

He looked at her face and she added,

Avni: I mean, why can't I just bring you food that is cooked by me, but at my house?

He refused unreasonably.

Neil: Nahi.

Avni: Kyun?

Neil just stammered, unable to find any excuse except he simply used to look for ways to hang out with her.

Neil: Erm. Because of the reason..

Avni stopped and turned to him. This time not only did she stare at him but also her dog Tommy, as if neil was accused of something very serious.

Avni: Aur kya hai wo reason?

He looked around, like any possible reason would be written somewhere in the town. Like treasure hunting.

Neil: Uh! Because..

Tommy yelped and neil could feel her dog had sensed the evil already, a strange man in love with his master, trying to snatch her away from him for lifetime. Sounded like some doomed innocent dog movie people cry rivers over in theatres. You filthy little dog, stop looking into my eyes! Neil almost screamed in his head.
