The others and I head down to the kitchen, so they could start on the love potion for the two princes. Mal was in the middle of me and Evie, reading off the recipe while the boys were sitting on the tables, petting Dude. "All right. It says that we still need one tear and we never cry." Mal says, sighing to herself after reading the next ingredient. Carlos picks up an onion next to him. "Why don't we just chop up some onions ?" "No. It says we need one tear of human sadness." I pointed out to him. "And this love potion gets the best reviews, so we have to follow it exactly." Mal continues. Jay rolls his eyes. "A tear's a tear." Evie shakes her head at him. "That's not true, Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear." Carlos and I just stand there, looking stunned by Evie while Mal smiles proudly and Jay tries to not seem embarrassed. "Listen to you." "Ya, I knew that." Playing it cool. "You did not." "Ya, I did." Luckily, someone opens the kitchen door as they are about to start fighting. We watched the door and in comes Lonnie.

"There you are, Mal." Mal and I rush to cover the spell book while the others try to act normal. "I've been looking for you. You know, all the girls want you to do their hair." Mal awkwardly laughs as we try not to give away our secret plan. Lonnie looks down at our potion. "Midnight snack, huh ? What are you guys making ?" Mal looks at me and Evie, trying to play it off. "Nothing special. Just cookies." Lonnie dips her finger into the batter and was going to eat it as we all yell at her to stop. Lonnie looks at us like we are crazy. "What ? I am not going to double dip." We looked at her a little skeptical, but we weren't sure if it did anything. "Feel anything ?" "Ya, like it might be missing something." Evie and I ask. Jay comes forward, leaning on a pole. "Hey, there." Jay says with a flirtatious smile. Lonnie just looks at him awkwardly, soon pursing her lips before turning back towards us. "Could use more chips." Lonnie shrugs and heads over to the fridge. I turned to Jay, trying to hold in my laugh from his rejection. Carlos is confused about it while he looks at Dude. Mal and Evie sigh. "And those are ?" Mal asks, annoyed.

"Chocolate chips. Just the most important food group." We all look at her confused. "Wait, didn't your moms ever make you guys, like chocolate chip cookies ? Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and... why are you all looking at me like that ?" We look down and realize how bad it was on the Isle. Mal looks up at her. "It's just different where we're from." "Yeah, I know. I just, you know, I thought... Even villains love their kids. Oh... How awful." Lonnie then realizes how hard we had it and we realize how little love we have gotten over the years. Mal looks up and sees a tear sliding down Lonnie's face. She flicks it onto her finger and into the bowl, ruining the moment. "Yeah, big bummer, but we have to get these into the oven, so thank you so much for coming by. Really, really have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow. Evil dreams." The boys push her out of the room while Mal continued to mix the batter. Evie and I sigh out in relief. "Okay, boys, cookie sheet. Evie, oven." Mal and I started to scoop out the dough and into the oven they went.
